Tennis Cup Introduction
Tennis is a word that any normal person would associate with the real life sport involving balls, rackets, a court, and two women named Williams. In our community, it is slightly different. YTP Tennis is when one person makes a video, sends it to the other person so they can make a new video with the original video, and this bounces back and forth until the game is complete. Sometimes the community holds tournament-styled events for YTP Tennis, such as the Tennis League 2 that was held back in Fall 2007 / Winter 2008. If you are up-to-date with the community’s tennis then you may know that as of now, the Tennis Cup is being held. What is the Tennis Cup, exactly? Well this article is here to discuss it.
The Tennis Cup, hosted by Gallers & “John Madden” (RabbitSnore), is an elimination style tournament of thirty-two players. The players of the Tennis Cup are: AbsoluteBillion, Captpan6, Crash2991, Christoph (myself), Domorato, Fiddlesticks411, FourTwoNineStudios, Gallers, GameBop, GameCubeHero, GreatBritishTurd, Intenseowl, Ishkibibl, Luioigi, Markie, MAZZ0Murder, MilkR0und, NS2, NutheadElMajestico, Ophios, RabbitSnore, Rakninja, SeductiveBaz, Sonicnerd23, Strong414bad, Temeku, Terrorist, TheDarkRises, TheHappyFungus, The Robotic Robot, Trogdor7190, and Uncle69er (Please note that these were the original players of the Tennis Cup and by the time of this article’s publishing, it may be incorrect). Quite a line-up of players ranging from well known members to talented newcomers makes for one of the best YTP Tennis events yet.
Every two weeks, a new round of the Tennis Cup begins where players (after being randomly paired against eachother) will have six rounds (three videos made by each player) to battle it out. Each round be longer than 30 seconds, but shorter than 3 minutes, and the maxium amount of sources that can be added during each round is 3. Once the match is complete, players, viewers, and anyone else on the forums can vote for who should win the match (details on voting at the bottom). Whoever gets more votes is the winner and go on to the next round of the Tennis Cup. With 32 players, each week the number of players is sliced in half, going 32, 16, 8, 4, and then the final two. Below is the official matches set-up for the first round of the tournament.

YTP News plans on bringing bi-weekly news on the Tennis Cup to you, but since sixteen matches were held last week, not many of them finished and there were too many to cover them properly. An in-depth look at two matches that were done early will be posted later this week. Another thing that will be done for the Tennis Cup is brief interviews with randomly selected players that are currently playing still. This time, our player is Nuthead.
YTP News: Hello, NutheadElMajestico. Thank you for taking time to do this brief interview.
NutheadElMajestico: It’s no problem, thanks for the interview
YTP News: What is something identifiable about you and your style in Tennis?
NutheadElMajestico: My style, well… There’s not really a permanent pattern to it I guess you could say. To be more accurate it’s more like a style that inhabits bits from other styles and combines them together. That, and experimenting around, seeing what does what to such and such clip. If I like it, it stays. If I don’t, well… Let’s just say it gets a little nasty.
YTP News: What has your experience in the Tennis Cup been like so far?
NutheadElMajestico: Pretty good. Currently waiting on Round 3, but Markie looks to be a challenging opponent. Plus with all this graduation ceremony and traditions this week, it’s been difficult to meet the time requirements, making it a bit more challenging. But a good challenge is never bad. Unless, you know, you’re one of those people who use game genies.
YTP News: Who do you look forward to playing the most? Why?
NutheadElMajestico: That is a tie between both Ishkibibl and Terrorist. Their styles are very unique, and it would be a pleasure to play against either one (Or in Terrorist’s case, a game that extends beyond 2 rounds). I’d just love to see what kind of rape they could do to my video. Terrorist has a slower kind of style that works really well, while Ishkibibl has stutters and layers down to the dime.
YTP News: Thank you very much for your time, and good luck in the Tennis Cup.
NutheadElMajestico: Thanks, and good luck to everyone else. So far everyone’s doing a spectacular job, so keep up the good work.
Look forward to seeing more overviews of the Tennis Cup’s action for that bi-week, player interviews, and other Tennis Cup related news each bi-week.
To vote in the Tennis Cup look in the Poop Tennis forum section for a subsection titled Tennis: Tournaments. Then search for topis with a tag in the title of the match that reads COMPLETE - VOTE NOW, or something to that effect. After viewing the match, go to your PM system and fill out a PM to be sent to the username John Madden. Subject titles can simply be titled “Vote” to make it clear that you are voting. In your message, state the matches you are voting on and for whom you are voting. You may vote only once for each match currently going on. At the end of the gameweek (two weeks), all the votes will be tallied up and the winners go onto the next round of the Tennis Cup.
For questions about the Tennis Cup, please contact RabbitSnore or Gallers. Good luck participants, and happy voting to all.

Awesome.
Also, Tennis League 2 was Winter 2008?
June 10th, 2008 at 7:18 pm
I think so? I am sure it was also going on in Fall 2007 also, so I guess I could edit that in.

I meant Winter 2008 as the Winter coming up in 6 months. Generally people say Winter 2007.
June 10th, 2008 at 11:42 pm
Absolute, you have to realize how silly that is. People are sheep. Winter begins December 21st. Why am I going to call it Winter 2007 if it is only winter at the end of the year for less than half a month? No offense, but Winter 2008 is how it should be.
