Oh, and the trial doesn't appear to expire (I've had it since the beginning of January), it just has the watermark, which is removed once it is bought.

The watermark (as far as I know) is the only difference between the free version and $89 version of Editstudio.

Actually, (although I'm still using Editstudio 5) Editstudio can import certain .wmv files (things I got from Quebecgamers and Yoshiart work just fine) The main problem seems to be with any .wmv that was converted by Mediaconverter. For these files, it only plays the sound, but as long as you can convert it to an .avi (as a low quality .wmv, it should come out as a small .avi file. I have actually grown used to creating videos using a seperate video and sound file and have not had any kind of trouble in doing things that other people can do with other programs. Editstudio's .avi export is very large, but if you export it as an MPEG file with the settings set to export to NSTC MPEG-1 or PAL MPEG-1, you'll have a fair quality video that is also much smaller than a .avi file.

In short, Editstudio really isn't as bad as this review would make it seem. (Well, again, I have Editstudio 5 instead of 6, so some things may have changed) The watermark doesn't bother me that much, although I may buy the full version or get something else later down the line. For now, though, I'm fine with EditStudio and as long as you know how to work around and work with Editstudio's limitations, you should be fine with it too.
