Here are some tips on how to get more views on your videos. This is compiled from advice by members of the forum. Good videos often get more views and comments by not so good videos but a little bit of guerrilla marketing can go along way to helping find your audience.

• Always include youtube poop or just poop in your tags - people search for poops and will not be able to find them unless they are marked as such. If you don’t want do this, becuase you’d rather your video surprised your audience then use tags of things that people search for - such as ’sex’ ‘money’ ‘girls’ ‘hot’ ‘lol’ lulz’. Tags are there to help people find videos they are not there to show the world how cool or funny you are.
• Whenever possible comment on other people’s poops. The more comments you give the more familar your name will become and the more likely people will watch your stuff.
• Also on youtube you can subscribe to others videos, add them as a friend and favourite all the videos you like. This helps out others, who often return the favour by commenting your videos or subscribing to your videos.
• As a general rule the more you make the better you get and the more people you know about you. Don’t expect channel views 1000 views if you’ve only made one poop.
• Having an eye catching video icon can be a huge help. Make sure after you’ve uploaded to check that the other two video icons aren’t better. Also consider changing them round every now and then.
• Use the video response function as often as possible. Perhaps one of the most powerful yet overlooked functions of youtube is the video reply function. Many poopers rather foolishly reply to their own poops meaning that one of their existing poops would have to be discovered first! Instead reply to poops you enjoy of even non poop videos. This will help people discover not only your own work but also the twisted world of poops - and your will be the first poop they will ever get to see!



• Likewise - if you see a video on youtube that you either love of hate make a poop version of it and send it back as a video reply - or send a poop styled reply.
• Put yourself in the shoes of someone who doesn’t know what a poop is. They come across your video and they want to know more or understand it better, if you make it easy for them come back.
• Never make demands of your audience. If a viewer writes a negative comment then GREAT. They’ve boosted you comment stats and they care enough to write something. You enemy is not hatred but it is indifference - and youtube is full of that!



• Below your video youtube displays which sites are linking to you video. If you are listed here then that one but you can boost this a lot by linking to your video in other forums or blogs. Remember your not just promoting your own videos but every other pooper too!



• Edit your personal information - Website URL - to you own listing here at youtube poop it should look like this http://youtubepoop.com/pooper/YOUR-YOUTUBE-NAME

• Remember the majority of people who use this site are those who make poops themselves so keep that in mind when posting in the forum. ie It’s unlikely they are going to be impressed with what you’ve done to Hotel Mario - having probably done something similar themselves already.
• Use the showroom section of the forum to make announcement of your latest work but don’t expect a lot of extra traffic. Remember though - by adding a link here you get another link on youtube!
• As mentioned above you may feel uncomfortable (or just modest) about telling the world how great your own videos are. Instead why not just tell the outside world how great youtube poops are (or even how great this site is - lol). This means that you will have to explain to people what youtube poops are and where they can finds them.
• Use a free ident at the start of your video. They help to give your stuff some context and also draw attention to this community - better still, make your own (don’t forget the .com)
• Take part in whatever collaborations or contests or going on. The goal is for people to know who you are and what sort of things you do. To have your own style goes a long way - even if your videos are rubbish (in your opinion) it is far better that they are memorable.
• Never ever try to be funny. . Do things to make youself laugh by all means but as soon as you make a joke then we will always be wondering if they ever laugh
• Consider making a video or two which you know would really annoy someone and imagine them being tied to a chair being made to watch it. What would thay video be like? Chances are it would be worth putting on youtube…
• Always make sure you make it easy for people to find your videos. Post links to you account pages, to you new videos and anywhere that will raise the profile of you and your videos. This my mean annoying people but that’s part of the fun. Remember, people are lazy so if you make it easy for people they may even be grateful.
