As part of our continuing (and perhaps somewhat annoying) coverage of media, new and old, the YCP News Crew presents its first Media Digest article. Herein are three articles in one. Staff regular writer SonicNerd23 brings us two reviews, one of The Dark Knight and the other of ’80s Hair Metal band Ratt. Finally, JimPaladin brings us a unique look at the start of The Legend of Zelda Series.

Movie Review: The Dark Knight

Hello, fellow poopers. What you are about to read is a review of what many consider the best movie of 2008. Thousands of people, comic book fans or just your average movie goer and their mother, have gone to see this movie. Movie sites have gone ballistic over this movie, giving it mainly high praise (At the time I’m writing this, it’s number 1 on the IMDB top 250). Hell, people are contemplating giving Heath Ledger a posthumous award for his role as the Joker. But now, now… Why so serious?

This movie kicked motherflrucking ass! I agree. It’s the best film of 2008. Better than Wall-E, Hulk, Iron Man, hell, even Indy 4! However, before I drool over the films awesomeness, I need to explain why this film kicked the ass it did. Otherwise, this wouldn’t make for much of a review. Now then, gentlemen… Where do we begin..?

Plot (5/5): After Joker robs a bank, the following night, Batman impersonators with guns try to take out the Scarecrow. The real Batman arrives and captures the Scarecrow. He ridicules the impersonators and tells them to leave the work to him. After the incident, he gets a new armor upgrade due to injuries. Afterwards, Bruce Wayne goes to a party. There, he meets Harvey Dent, a district attorney who is also in love with Rachel Dawes. Meanwhile, at a meeting of the mob bosses, Joker arrives and proposes an idea. “Kill the bat man…” he says. Believe it or not, there’s a lot more to this, but I don’t want to spoil it for all of you.

Sound (5/5): This film has explosions that will make you happy. The sounds of them are nice, constant, ‘n’ loud, and they take up a good lot of the film during action scenes or scenes with the Joker. Of course, who could not mention the score by Hans Zimmer? It’s even more powerful than the 1989 Batman score by Danny Elfman. It’s just that good. However, I think of Batman when I listen to the Danny Elfman score. Despite this, the score is dark and powerful in this movie

Direction (5/5): The actors are all good in this movie. They’re all somewhat famous too. There’s Christian Bale returning as Batman, Morgan Freeman, Heath Ledger, Aaron Eckhart, etc. As I said before, people want to give Heath Ledger a posthumous award for his role as the Joker. I would have to agree. Heath made the Joker character seem menacing and deadly. My mom said she was scared every time that he was on the screen because he was unpredictable. He could pull a rabbit out of his hat at any time and scare people. Of course, most of his actions lead to dark comedy, so Joker’s also a comic relief character in this film. Also, there are plenty of well choreographed action scenes. This film went on the right direction for all of the movie. Just one question. Why does Batman always sound like he needs a throat lozenge?

Overall: Go see this movie. Cancel your trip to the beach. Forget that doctor’s appointment. Do anything in your power to see this movie. It will be well worth it. This film is better than sex (May be exaggerating, but it’s close). This film goes beyond comic book movie standards and takes you on a wild ride. It’s any thing a movie should be. It’s a dark comedy movie. It’s an action movie. It’s a crime movie. It’s a drama movie. It has anything a regular kickass movie requires and more. Bottom line, The Dark Knight is the best film of 2008.

Retro Music Review: Out of the Cellar by Ratt

Sonicnerd23 here to bring you not a movie but an album review. As you all know, I obsess over hair metal. Name a hair metal band and chances are, I’ve heard of them. If not, then I don’t know what to say. Every hair metal band (with the exception of a few) reached great fame in the 80’s. All of these bands put out at least one hit album or possibly more. However, the one I’ll be talking about is…

Out of the Cellar by Ratt

What can I say about Ratt? They were one of the leading pioneers of hair metal in the 80’s. The band put out an EP and 6 studio albums. Ratt was formed in 1976 under the name of Mickey Ratt. The original lineup featured Stephen Pearcy, Jake E. Lee (future Ozzy Osbourne guitarist), Chris Hager, Paul DeNisco, Matt Thorr, and John Turner. In 1981, when Jake, Chris, and Matt left to form Rough Cutt, Juan Croucier, Warren DeMartini, and Robbin Crosby. In 1982, Bobby Blotzer replaced John Turner on drums, completing the classic Ratt lineup. After the success of their EP in 1983, the band recorded a studio album. This album’s sound (and possibly title) was influenced a lot by Aerosmith. How are these songs? Let’s see:

1. Wanted Man (3:37)
One of the few singles from this album, it’s a good song. It runs at the same pace as a lot of their songs. The guitar isn’t really too complicated, but the solo by Warren DeMartini makes up for it somewhat. The lyrics are kinda cheesy while trying to reflect on the west, however, I think this song is a nice track.
7/10

2. You’re In Trouble (3:16)
Starting off with a series of noises apparently coming from mice, it transitions into a pounding bassline from Juan Croucier. Like some other Ratt songs, its lyrics relate to crime. The song transitions from Verse to Chorus pretty well. Speaking of the chorus line, it’s a pretty memorizable one, though not as famous as other Ratt song choruses. The guitar in this song isn’t too special. I’d say the main draw of this song is the pounding bass.
8/10

3. Round and Round (4:22)
Needless to say, this is Ratt’s most famous song. The riff is easily recognizable, as well as the lyrics. The chorus is also very famous. Warren DeMartini and Robbin Crosby both share the lead and play an excellent solo together. Altogether, Round and Round is a hair metal gems from the 80’s that I reccomend you listen to if you haven’t already, which is somewhat unlikely if you listen to the radio.
10/10

4. In Your Direction (3:30)
The guitar in the intro is pretty fast, followed by a disappointing mild guitar riff. Fortunately, the chorus revisits some of the guitar in the intro. The solo is a pretty mild one at that until you get to the second part of it. There isn’t much else to say about the other parts of the band in this song, but the guitar sure is badass.
8/10

5. She Wants Money (3:04)
This song takes the style of the first few songs off of the album and just takes a shit on it. Don’t be fooled by the faster pace of this song. There isn’t a whole lot of guitar in it. That means there is little bass too. The drums are the main draw of the songs. All in all, this is a ho-hum song that could’ve be a whole lot better but wasn’t.
4/10

6. Lack of Communication (3:52)
This song has a pretty nice guitar riff. This was one of the few songs (or perhaps the only one to have backup vocals by the other bandmates while Stephen sung another part. This speed is one of Ratt’s most recognizable and would later be used in songs like You’re In Love.
9/10

7. Back For More (3:42)
This song revisits the style shown in the first 4 songs. In the beginning, an acoustic guitar plays, followed by the electrical guitar. Something else I noticed, this song is played at the same speed and key as You’re In Trouble. Nice touch. The chorus is almost as good as the one in Round and Round, in my opinion. Great song.
9/10

8. The Morning After (3:30)
This song references another of Ratt’s inspirations: Van Halen. Its resemblances can clearly be seen in the solo with is Eddie Van Halen esque. Another good thing about this song is the galloping bassline of Juan Croucier and the nice drumline of Bobby Blotzer. While not as famous as the song it was promoted with, Round and Round, it’s a great song.
10/10

9. I’m Insane (2:54)
The influence of 80’s metal can be seen here in the guitar riff. Despite being the shortest song on here, it has a very powerful guitar, especially during the solo. The drums aren’t too impressive, but the bassline matches the riff perfectly. This song just sounds like they had fun playing. It’s a good song for all you metal fans out there.
8/10

10. Scene of the Crime (4:54)
At last, we come to the final track. Well, they certainly saved the best for last. This song is just as good as Round and Round, in my opinion. I also like the fact that this Ratt song uses a curse word (bitch). The solo was also a dual one from Warren DeMartini and Robbin Crosby, although it is much shorter than the one in Round and Round. This song is on of Ratt’s best and it is heavily underrated.
10/10

Overall Score: 9/10

I love this album. While it may not be the perfect Ratt album, it certainly is better compared to their self-titled album in 1999. Warren DeMartini is a very good guitarist as well as Robbin Crosby. Their solos were all very good on the album. Juan Croucier has very thuddy basslines, making him a pretty heavy part of the band. Bobby Blotzer, while there’s nothing special about him, is okay for a drummer, but he certainly has better drumlines on later albums. Stephen Pearcy’s whiny voice is annoying at first, but once you get used to him, he’s a nice singer. I’d recommend Ratt for all you fans of 80’s hair metal (the numbers might be slim, but still).

Video Game Review: A Comparative Look at The Legend of Zelda and Link’s Adventure

JimPaladin here with yet another exciting writing for the News Staff. And, no, exhale that inhaled breath- it’s not another movie or tennis review.

I’d like to adress a different subject. And as the video game reviewer, it’s going to be about video games (lol suprise laoaowl)

Anywhos, I’m going to doing something a little “different” this time than a standard review, and instead, I’m going to do a kind of “Two-in-one” review comparing and contrasting two games in a series that, while a prequel and sequel to one another, are two VERY different games. Close down the porn windows, tell f/14/cali you’ll “bRb”, and get ready for JimPaladin’s infamous review on Zelda one and Zelda two.

Starting off, I’ll cover the basics of what both games were like, and then compare and contrast them together. So, since Zelda one is the, well, first game in the series we’ll start with it.

It’s things like this game that make me wish I were born back in the early 80’s. To see the mass unveiling of one of today’s most largest companies, and the system that really put video games on the spot for home entertainment. And the games that followed it. Zelda for the original NES. A game that tried something different and ended up releasing master pieces out the ass for years to come. Like The Wand of Gamelon, right? It was the first game to feature a map that was completely connected (Save for things like caves, homes, dungeons, etc…) and introduced a lot of things like changable ‘practical’ inventories, and different items. As well as being one of the first games to have save files. The story, however, was fairly basic. Link sets out to collect the Triforce, defeat the evil king, and save Hyrule and it’s Princess. No other real characters, no other towns, cities, etc… And while having a giant map, it’s map was fairly bland. Lots of generic areas that looked just like each other, meaning getting lost wasn’t hard to do without making a map (Seriously, it’s like freaking purgatory half the time.) That aside, however, this game sets the pace for basically every other Zelda game’s gameplay. But for the times, this game caused a rave you can’t even compare games like Brawl or GTA 4.

Then, the ever-for sure and awaited sequel came out. The game every nintendo fan from the time had a wet-dream about. Zelda 2: Adventure of Link for, not the NES- but The infamous Famicon Game System (Though later set into the NES). This game also broke far away from what it’s brother game had made. The game starts out normal enough, you walk around an over head map, a more colorful, vibrant, populated, varied world from the one seen in the original Zelda. Only to soon be attacked by enemies that appear out of no where to chase you around the map. Coming into contact with one brings you to a battle in a different screen, reflecting RPGness. What’s more is Link now gains levels, skills, gets EXP, etc… Zelda 2 was and is unlike any other Zelda game to date. Apparently, most of the people who worked on the original Zelda were not present, and were replaced with new people for the scene of Zelda 2. They took many different turns, such as the combat system, and adding Side-scrolling aspects to the game as opposed to being over-head all the time in Zelda 1. It also focuses much more on story and characters, introducing the first ’sages’ in the series. Link can also, to a point, swim. The game is also the first (due to it’s side-scrolling) the first in the series to inroduce jumping and crouching in Link’s movement. Adding more varied combat and monsters (Damned Iron knuckles) It also sets the fact apart that all the Zelda games are, infact, not connected side-by-side to each other, but are places years apart via Link apparently being re-born, and every princess in the Hyrule family being named “Zelda”.

In a comparision of the two, Zelda 1 is the much better of the two. It just feels more like a Zelda game (it does because it IS more like a Zelda game) than Adventure of Link, keeping more elements of a Zelda game rather than it’s Final Fantasy-styled sequel where level and skill gain is added. Though that’s not to say Zelda 2 is bad, or that it isn’t good. Mind-fuckingly hard as it is, it’s a fairly fun game. Though it makes poor use of the leveling system. Most of the time Temples have almost no monsters, monsters that you need to kill for the ever-important EXP and levels that you’ll need to face the boss. This lead to a few (especially the first Boss) being annoying as fuck to kill, while other bosses you’d have to be 3 week dead corpse to not be able to button-mash rape. However, I much prefer the more colorful, ‘realistic’ and populated realm of Zelda 2, as opposed to the creamish colored ground, desolate, unpopulatedness and odd mountains and forests of Zelda 1. Both games have great music, from the ever-present main theme to original tracks. That, and I have a taste for low-bit Midis. So bite me.

The original Zelda if stacked against it’s sequel, if definitely the more influential of the two on the later Zelda games, as much more of it’s gameplay and mode is retained as compared to Adventure of Link. Though I’ve more than once met a guy who’s preferred his Link to level up and gain experience. In the end, I can only recommend you play both Zelda one, and two and decide for yourself. Whether it is you prefer collecting items over EXP, or on-stage battles over being in a different ‘battle area’, as long as you’re a Zelda fan, there’s no need to worry. I’m sure you’ll enjoy both games. After all, Zelda 2 might have been different, but it’s far from a Faces of Evil.

Misselaineous10 is one of the oldest and longest serving staff members in our community. She has seen many events and forged through them with us to this day. Recently, she was been promoted to an administrator, and now I, Christoph of the YTP News, have the chance to interview this respected member of our community.

Hello, Misselaineous10. Before we get started I would like to thank you for taking the time to do this interview and congratulate you on becoming one of the few administrators of the forum.

 No problem and thank you.

Let’s start back in 2007. You are one of the more well known members of the old “Vanilla” forum. How did you become a member of the community in the first place?

My brother, toadomos, first joined the forum after receiving news that a YouTube Poop forum had opened up. I was iffy about joining it at first, considered I’ve never joined a single forum before, even if it intrigued me. I decided “Sure, why not,” and shortly joined thereafter. Didn’t make much posts at first, but I gradually made myself at home on the forum.

So you’ve been a part of the community for a very long time. Do you remember how long it took you to become a moderator?

Sorry, hold on. “Raid” by HackersForum again.

Ah, well take your time.

*several minutes of ass kicking later*

Ok. Ahem… It took about two-three months before Conrad made me a mod. I was considered one of the most responsible and mature members of YCP. Never whining or making a big deal out of anything. So, along with SeductiveBaz, on September 22nd, I was made a moderator of YouChew.

So in two months, you’ll have served the forum for a year. I’ll be sure to mark my calendar. You were involved in the Planet Freedom incident as well as The Pachinko Machine incident. What could you tell me about those incidents as well as your thoughts on those incidents?

For The Pachinko Machine incident, it was created when the “Pimps became Mod” fiasco took place on January 20, 2008. Dopply and Cloggedone took time and made the TPM forum as a place to chill out from all the drama at YCP. Later, that forum fell apart, since reparations at YouChew were being done. It is now a porn spambot cesspool. No one knows of it’s existence besides Dopp, Clogged, Baz, Rabbit, TINS… and I. Oh, Fox too.

What was your role in these two forums?

Being a moderator, as well as helping out with their construction in the beginning. Oh, you want to explain about how PF came to be as well?

That would be lovely.

All right. With the removal of HTML on the old YCP forums, TINS had an idea of creating another forum to get away from all the drama happening. I obliged happily, as I was frustrated with what was happening on YCP and whatnot. Fox suggested the name “Planet Freedom” (from the famous “Sonic the Movie OVA”), and TINS eagerly agreed, thus, using freeforums.org, PF was born. I was made a mod and all was good. Shaky, but good. The creation of this forum led to the banning of TINS on YCP. Many were outraged, but fortunately, TINS and Conrad came to an agreement, which resulted in him being unbanned and receiving ownership of YouChew provided he close down Planet Freedom. All this happened within a week around the month of March 2008. So now Planet Freedom is a forum where members of YCP use when the main forums are down, messed up, etc. when TINS opens it, and that about covers TPM and PF.

You’ve been a big part of the current forum, doing all kinds of work. From moderation to technical support, you’ve proven that you’re one of the best forum members to rely on. Your work has earned you many kudos, but you have also received some negativity. One member in particular is the currently banned Pimpsahoy. What can you tell me about that?

Ah yes. Him. He believed he could get away with anything from posting porn to being a dick to everyone. He was helpful to people at times, but that didn’t stop him from having his own type of “fun,” and whenever he got banned on the old forums he was let back on because Conrad liked him so much.

You’ve also had some dislike from a handful of members about your methods of moderation. Anything you’d like to say about that or them?

Sure. ShadowWario, or Swari, does not consider me a good mod due to me closing threads when they get derailed, which according to him, is “abusing my powers.” He means well, but he thinks the forum should be unserious all the time which ironically, he’s very serious about acting unserious on YCP. TheDumbening, the attention-whoring dick of YouChew, either says I’m doing a good job or I fail. Eh. Can never tell with that kid.

Many claim that the forum has changed for the worse since it’s creation in 2007. What are your thoughts on our wild community?

It has become more lively and crazier since it began. Many new users have joined, especially Deepercutt fans. I say YCP has gotten more annoying, but I can deal with that. Also, whiny.

Let’s take a moment to discuss tennis. You’re responsible for the very first YouTube Poop Tennis match, have played in the first Tennis League, and was a substitute for players who couldn’t do their match during particular weeks in the Tennis League 2. What are your thoughts on tennis, what it has become, what it means for our community, and the future of tennis?

I think Poop Tennis is fantastic. There’s so much possibilities you can do with one’s vid. It has grown a lot throughout our community, even outside of the forum on YouTube. It gives poopers a chance to be creative and mess with another’s poop to create another monstrosity of a vid. The Poop Tennis Cafe is one cool hangout on YCP to discuss tennis as well as plan future matches as well as having fun. I’d say Poop Tennis has a good future in YTP and YCP. It will continue to evolve into much greater things.

Let’s begin to wrap things up. You’re now an administrator, which is a very large step up from your original post as “the sister of the guy who heard about this place.” What has it been like to be the moderator of our community, past and present?

It’s been fun, very enjoyable, and amusing. Stressful at times during drama and the usual spam. I’m usually responsible and not afraid to edit people’s posts every now and then, and I do it with …charisma? A feeling like that anyway.

It’s good to know we’re in such reliable and charismatic hands. One last question that everyone wants to know before you go: What’s your bra size?

Haha… All you need to know is they’re not very big.

That’s good enough for me. Thank you very much for your time, Miss10.

No prob.

With the Tennis Cup past it’s half-way point, only a small handful of matches remain to be seen. The following is a review of Temeku vs Crash2991’s gameweek 3 match. It was written by strong414bad. Forgive the tardiness of this article and enjoy this review. Thank you for your support and patience.

~Christoph

Round 1- Temeku- The King Is Sexually Confused
The first round is mainly AIDSless AIDS, using Hotel Mario and CD-i Zelda with a ton of visual and audio noise, although there was one part in which an old airline commercial was pooped. There are a ton of effects and really fast stutters, which is odd for a first round of a tennis match because they’re usually hard to poop. But it still is a great poop on its own and definately sets a challenge for the rounds to come.

Round 2- Crash2991- The King is Confused About Love
While the second round is a lot shorter than the first, clocking in at 34 seconds, it is full of more visual effects and a ton of random sounds. It uses the CD-i from the last round mixed with some creepy animes and such. At many points, the poop uses stuff like chroma keys and transparency, putting one clip over another to increase the insanity of the whole thing. Although it is short, it is a great round- the kind of thing you’d expect from a Round 5 or 6, not a second round, which makes it even more awesome.

Round 3- Temeku- Richard Simmons Makes Love to the King
And it keeps getting more insane. Round 3 is a superfast mess of more video effects, fast stutter loops, and general PiP craziness. There’s a lot of speed-ups in it, and a ludicrous amount of flashing lights. Temeku adds in some Whose Line Is It Anyway in the mix, but keeps it as over-the-top insane as the other round. It’s really hard to believe that this is only Round 3 of this match, which is probably one of the more insane and quick matches out there.

Round 4- Crash2991- Giant Robot Makes Love to SimmonsRichard
And yet Round 4 gets even faster and more intense. It’s getting to the point where I can’t describe the rounds as well anymore because I can’t actually discern or understand most of what’s going on. The round is a massive, superfast, layered mess of epic proportions, using a lot more PiP and fisual effects to generally make a round that ends up being total seizuretastic insanity, and something that will be hard to top.

Round 5- Temeku- Love is Irrelevant
Round 5 definately tops it by being both faster and slower at the same time. There are still fast messes in the mix, which are even faster and messier and now have audio editing and still pictures, but it also slows down to have stuff like a brief musical segment and some slower stutters. Temeku adds some Drake and Josh and Terminator 2, and integrates it seamlessly with the rest of the poop. It’s fast and totally brilliant, and I can’t wait to see what Crash does to try to top it.

Round 6- Crash2991- Irrelevancy is Relevant
Round 6 gets a bit slower, adding in some slowdown and some slower, less edited bits. But most of the poop is still the same awesome insanity that we’ve come to love from this match. There isn’t much I can say about it- there’s more speedups, more PiP, and more of basically everything that made this match awesome.

Final Thoughts
Temeku vs. Crash2991 started off with an unusually fast poop and kept getting faster and faster with every new round. There really isn’t much I can say about the match in general other than the fact that Crash and Temeku are both very skilled Tennis players and the fact that I absolutely loved it. This match is highly reccommended.

Forget Dreamworks Animation. Pixar is where it’s at. Sure, Dreamworks may have created the legendary film Shrek, but other than that and the average Madagascar and Shark Tale, that’s all they’re good for. Pixar’s filmography includes tons of notable films such as Toy Story, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, and Ratatouille.

And then there’s WALL-E. This is a fairly recent film. Hell, it was released today (For those reading this on a later date, the date I’m typing this is on June 27th). I think Pixar has done it again. Of course, it could come to no surprise, looking back at their other films.

Plot (5/5): 700 or so years from now, we’ll leave the Earth due to a massive garbage buildup. We’ll leave a small robot, WALL-E, in our place to clean up after ourselves. WALL-E lives in a garbage truck-like house. He owns tons of junk he found cleaning up Earth. Among this junk, he has a VHS copy of Hello Dolly, to which he discovers romance. Day after mundane day, he cleans up Earth, until one day, when he finds a plant stored behind a refrigerator. The next morning, a robot named EVE arrives and scouts the area for life. WALL-E has found true love, but when he takes her home and shows her the plant…

Sound (5/5): Wonderful. The robots were voiced by voice actors, yes, but Ben Burtt, Star Wars sound making pioneer, has made the voices into what they would be like spoken in a robot’s voice. The score, while it may not have any rock songs, the featured songs, usually from the 60’s, are quite nice, and so is the score.

Direction (5/5): The CGI in this movie works wonders. A beautiful demonstration of this is when WALL-E is flying in space. The robots are convincing at being robots, with the clicks and whirrs any normal robot would have. Even the human voice actors are good. There is also a good combination of real life footage and 3-D animation in this movie. Fun Fact: The BNL CEO is played by Fred Willard, a comedic actor.

Overall: I loved this movie. What are you waiting for? Go see it. Now. With it’s cute cast of characters, amazing CGI settings, and awesome robot interaction, it’s a true Pixar mov-EE!…Heheheh… Sorry, but seriously. Go see this movie if you aren’t satisfied with Kung Fu Panda. With that said, I look forward to Pixar’s next animated movie. Oh, and Spielberg, you really need to tell the animation department at Dreamworks to up the ante, in my opinion. Oh, and sorry to all you British over there. You have to wait an extra month before you get it. And Australians? Forget it. You guys get it in September. I’m certain it will be worth the wait.

With this current gameweek well in progress, only a fourth of the competition remains active. YTP News is here to bring you the results once again, as well as a brief interview with player Ishkibibl.

The third gameweek of the Tennis Cup is more than halfway done, with only eight competitors remaining in four matches. Down from sixteen last gameweek, the Cup is drawing to a climactic finish.

The second gameweek saw victory for GameBop over GreatBritishTurd, Crash2991 over uncle69er, and NutheadElMajestico over RabbitSnore. Temeku received a free pass from his match with Intenseowl, with his opponent eliminated by default, disqualified by failing to volley the serve. This left Temeku and Intenseowl with a disappointing single round match.

NS2 won a victory over MAZZ0Murder, with his skillful use of WMM. TheRoboticRobot overcame AbsoluteBillion in a sweeping victory. Ophios defeated RAKninja in a tight battle, and Ishkibibl defeated Christoph in a match which voters referred to as “a tough call.”

Now, with the four matches of the third bracket coming to a finish on Saturday, we will soon be left with only four competitors in the semifinal bracket. As always, the Tennis Cup assures an interesting fight to the finish.

Ishkibibl, though busy with his current match, decided to give YTP News a moment of his time to allow us to conduct this week’s player interview.

YTP News: Greetings, Ishkibibl. Thanks for taking some time to do this interview.

Ishkibibl: No problemo.

YTP News: What is something identifiable about you and your style in Tennis? Any notable sources you often use?

Ishkibibl: Stuttering. Stuttering makes up about 1/3-1/2 of what I do in tennis matches because it’s easy for me to make and it’s always different each time to keep it from being repetitive. The other half is ear-rape, musical or whatever the hell I feel like making.

I don’t look for any specific sources to use, just whatever pops into my mind. I try to stay away from anime though, can’t really make anything out of anime unless I’m in the mood.

YTP News: What has your experience in the Tennis Cup been like so far?

Ishkibibl: The Tennis Cup has been a very enjoyable and fun experience for me, and I learned that I prefer to be served than to be the server because that leaves me more room to just kick the shi-, I mean, edit the previous round. Plus, the sixth round is the one people look forward to most in a Tennis match.

YTP News: Only 8 players are left in the Tennis Cup. With only a few more gameweeks remaining, who do you look forward to playing the most? Why?

Ishkibibl: I’m looking forward to playing Nuthead or Temeku. I like the poops they make. I’ve seen the way they rape videos, I’ve seen their overall style, and they look like some really fun people for me to go against. I’ve also never played Poop Tennis with any of them yet, and I really want to, so I’ll have to do my best in Bracket 3 of the Tennis Cup.

YTP News: Thank you very much for your time, and good luck in the Tennis Cup.

Ishkibibl: Thank you too.

That’s it for the first part of our Tennis Cup Gameweek3 article. Be sure to look part two later this week to see reviews of the first two completed matches to help you decide on who to vote for. Have a good day.

Many collaborations have been devised based around a video game or any gameplay. One game in particular is Ratchet & Clank which has been given it’s own place on the list game collabs.

The collab was formulated by KingBloo who had specific times for entries, around 50 seconds. Each entry, of course, must be from a game from the series.

The video begins with a small introduction and goes straight into the collab. First is NS2’s entry, who chose to use Big Al the “robot guy” conversing with Ratchet and Clank. It is an incredibly simple but awesome poop. It has no effects, but uses the technique of stutters and repetition with sentence mixing. By accident, this entry was added after the video was uploaded, which actually left a small bit of the previous uploading.

Next, Kingbloo with his fun piece featuring the plumber talking with Ratchet and Clank. What I really like about this one is the ear rape. YouTube usually quiets all my ear rape in my video and frankly it pisses the hell out of me. On track, the video was great, and fairly simple. The only effects used were 2 audio effects inversion, and a mirror.

I do not personally enjoy talking about my own work and have decided to skip to Wikiwow. This piece was centered around Captain Quark, the “superhero” in the game series. It is what you can expect from Wikiwow, if you are familiar with his work (as you should be). His entry mainly consists of stutters, repetition, and some sentence mixing.

KingCornholio up next with a poop that utilizes multiple cutscenes. His main techniques used were stutters, repetitions, and reverses. A few things I absolutely liked about it was his signature use of GLaDOS from Portal and the quick sentence mixing.

Next is MoebusOne who uses a Captain Quark scene along with the plumber. This one reminded me of my own work only better. He used a lot of stutter had done some short rearranging. I very much enjoyed this one.

GorillaCrap’s entry was fairly slow. In the entire entry, there was only one repetition, but I actually liked it because it had Captain Quark, which was instant win for me.

Lastly, but not the least was Domorato. The beginning was a rape rave between an infobot and the leader of the planet with a funny, but appropriate song in the background. The main technique is stuttering, one thing Domo is best known for. It ended with a dramatic revelation which you have to watch for yourself.

Mike Myers’ The Love Guru is positively awful.

As a movie-goer I would consider this enough of a review that I would be able to move on to bigger things, since it’s entirely true, but I also hold myself to higher standards of writing than that, so I will continue.

Now as simple enough as it is to call The Love Guru awful, it still doesn’t explain the most important part of the review: WHY is The Love Guru awful? In order to understand that we must first understand the film itself. The movie stars Mike Myers as Maurice Pitka, currently the number two self-help guru in the world behind REAL self-help guru, Deepak Chopra. Dreaming of appearing on Oprah, Pitka takes on the biggest job of his career, being tasked with rekindling the romance between Toronto Maple Leafs player Darren Roanoke, (Romany Malco) and his estranged wife, (Meagan Good) currently necking with rival hockey player Jaques “Le Coq” Grande. (Justin Timberlake) As this happens he finds himself falling for the Maple Leafs team owner, Jane Bullard. (Jessica Alba)

The most obvious flaw in the movie is that simply put: It’s not funny. The only moment the film ever got so much as a “Heh” out of me was when I first saw the trailer, there was a one-off gag with Pitka atop what appeared to be a magic carpet of sorts, backing up, and making that distinctive “Beep beep beep” noise that you hear when a truck backs up. That was pretty much it.

The humor from much of the rest of the film derives from countless immature gross-out gags, ranging from disciples of Pitka’s mentor, Guru Tugginmypudha, (Portrayed by Ben Kingsley. Yes. Ben Kingsley who won a Best Actor Oscar in the film Gandhi. THAT Ben Kingsley.) beating each other senselessly with piss-stain mops, and more than one elephant dung joke. (Apparently one just isn’t enough for Myers.)

There’s also heavy reliance of pop-culture references as well. If you’re a fan of Family Guy, which pretty much throws them at you in an endless stream, often forgetting to include a joke in the process, then you may get a few chuckles out of this. I on the other hand, get no such pleasure out of jokes that rely entirely on the viewer’s knowledge of pop culture, and as such couldn’t laugh at Mike Myers playing “9 to 5” on a sitar, or incessantly telling people “Mariska Hargitay” as if it MEANT something. (More like as if it was poised to be the next big Myers film catchphrase. Save for the Shrek series, pretty much all of them have one.)

What was somewhat baffling is the pop-culture referencing went as far back as Myers’ own films. At one point Pitka finds “Bohemian Rhapsody” playing on a radio, turns to the camera as if to give a winking nod, then changes the station. An obvious reference to Wayne’s World, but still not that funny. But when his previous films aren’t being alluded to, jokes are outright copied and pasted from other ones. (I lost count how many midget jokes were made in the film, at the expense of Verne Troyer as Coach Cherkov, that were pretty much cookie cutter copies of jokes played on Verne Troyer as Mini-Me’s expense in Austin Powers. I wasn’t paying attention completely, but it wouldn’t have surprised me if I found that he was re-hashing jokes from even So I Married An Axe Murderer.)

The film also failed to connect the viewer to the plot and characters, and genuinely believe in the action that’s taking place. Walking in to the film for me, it was the impossibility in believing that Jessica Alba and Justin Timberlake could be called actors, but later it expanded into the impossibility that anyone could identify with Myers’ Pitka character, (He regularly comes off as rather douchebaggy with every joke made at the expense of another character without any sort of charm.) or even see any sort of scrap of wisdom in him. (With all the ridiculously unwitty musings and puns that Pitka makes, it really seems only the characters in the film are laughing at/with him, while the audience is left with a whisper quiet theater.)

Oh yeah, speaking of puns, if you’re not a fan of puns bring some asprin. There are some truly awful puns and unfunny entendres rampant throughout the film. (Present in the characters of Guru Tugginmypudha, Guru Sachabigknoba, Coach Cherkov, Jaques “Le Coq” Grande, and the not even SLIGHTLY subtle Dick Pants.) I’m beginning to think that any complaints by Hindu activist groups about the film being insensitive to Hindus aren’t quite unfounded, considering that Myers would actually attempt to pass off Tugginmypudha or Sachabigknoba as legit Hindu names.

The film hasn’t done well so far, especially considering all the advertising green that’s been dumped into it, so thankfully there doesn’t seem to be a chance for a sequel. Personally I’m wondering what will become of Myers, who hasn’t done any movies since 2003’s abberation, The Cat In The Hat. (Not counting the Shrek films.) It would make no difference to me if Myers just stopped making films altogether after this one. At least then we’d be spared any more of what Myers thinks is funny, which I’ve pretty much got down to a formula now: Canada, Poop, Midgets, Pop-Culture, Ethnic Stereotypes, and Puns. Which is pretty much all you can expect out of The Love Guru. (HUMOR on the other hand…)

Looking back a few games in the past, JimPaladin brings us a look at a classic game in a classic series, writing with a casual tone for our enjoyment.

Hello, I’m JimPaladin, some of you may remember me from such forums as YouChewPoop, and Newgrounds. I’ll be your new(est) ‘Vidya gaym’ reviewer, and I’m here to talk to you about a very important issue, one that is right up there with “Global Warming” and “Kill all the yiffs!”

The game of The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker.

I’m not quite sure why I decided to choose Wind Waker for my first YouChew review, but I guess Pimpsahoy isn’t quite sure why the admins wont treat him like Conrad did. Also, bear with me, this is my first review of any kind for awhile, so I’ll be a little rusty with this first one. I PROMISE I WILL DO BETTER WITH FUTURE WORKS. I GIVE YOU MY WORD.

But, enough about that-

As far as games for the Nintendo Gamecube went, this one is up on the “most memorable” list. For those of you who haven’t played it (which could or could not be a lot of people, I don’t see it being a good half and half mix) think of it as basically playing Ocarina of Time, or Majora’s Mask in terms of controls and gameplay, save for the hours of traveressing a gigantic ocean on a boat for hours. And for those of you who haven’t played Ocarina of Time, or Majora’s Mask, I guess you’ll have to use your vivid imaginations to replicate gameplay.

Anywhos, I’ll try to keep this a uniform review, but I can’t promise stuff wont get mixed up.

As far as a story is in a game, it’s normally a very important aspect of the game for me. But that’s just me. There are a few games that are meant to have stories, but are so much damn fun I don’t care about whatever story is taking place. Wind Waker, on the other hand, it is one of the many games with a story I care for.

Basically what happens is, the plot of Wind Waker takes place a hundred years after (or with The Legend of Zelda’s screwy timeline, it could have happened the next tuesday after the events from The Faces of Evil.) the events of Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask. Supposedly, as the ‘legend’ goes, Ganon nearly took over the entire world in Ocarina of Time while Link was sealed away for seven years in Ocarina of time, but Link came back in the nick-of-time to save the people and Hyrule. Ganon is sealed away and the day is saved, but then while Link is either in Termina, or after he passes away, one pissed off King of Evil breaks free from his prison and rapes Hyrule once again. (As a side note, the timeline doesn’t make sense, because the first invasion of Ganon in Ocarina of Time never happened since you stopped it.) Anywhos, seeings how Link is for, whatever reason no longer able to help out Hyrule, the people pray that, instead of that the Goddess smite down Ganon, that they flood the earth and covor it with water (Smart, right?). Thus killing most everyone except for the people on the highest mountain tops (Or the islands in Wind Waker) and basically accomplish nothing outside of killing all of Ganon’s enemies, and giving him a giant outdoor pool.

Anyways, on one of the now many various islands that are found in the now endless sea of Wind Waker, the legends of Link: Hero of Time and co-Nintendo icon of the late 90’s still survive in a small island village (a small village of like 10 whole people.) Because of this, it’s customary to dress kids who come of age in the same green clothes the Link of 100 years ago wore.

Enter Wind Waker Link. As you explore your island home as Link, doing various tasks from sword training to catching pigs, you’ll eventually enter a cut scene where a giant bird flies over the island, carrying a what appears to be a lolicon pirate captain girl. (un)Luckily for the lolicon (Or Tetra, as her name is. Though for those who have beaten Wind Waker you know she also goes by another name, as well.) her crew of incompetent-fuck pirates shoot the bird, causing it to drop her hundreds of feet in the air onto solid ground. She lands on top of a mountain top, and Link, being the adventure-bound little scamp he is, decides to investigate. After you find Tetra (who just happens to land on a tree branch by her belt) and dispatch a few monsters, Tetra’s pirate crew arrives (just in the nick of time to not help you fight those monsters, too!) and as the pirates and Link leave the mountain forest, Link’s sister (Being the wanna-be Link she is) has followed Link up the mountain, as she runs to her brother, as Satan himself would have it, the giant bird swoops back down to the mountain and grabs Link’s sister, in confusion of Tetra.

Cue adventure.

It’s a really light-hearted Zelda (or atleast for a Zelda game, since you can’t really tone it down much more) with the ‘basic’ Zelda story line.

Due to it’s originallity with parts, while still keeping the classic themes of a Zelda game (I admit when I’d seen the new artwork, though I didn’t mind the art, I was afraid the game’s base would change), However, I enjoyed a game like Majora’s Mask much more. It helps in playing a game much more when you actually care about the characters and people you are saving. Because of this, if I were to rate Wind Waker’s plot on a scale of one to ten, I’d place it at a good 8.5/10. The more basic-nature of the plot is good, but I just don’t personally like it myself. But hey, that’s just me.

I haven’t heard much better than this one in music, not even from another Zelda game (aside from Majora’s Mask, however.). The music is just great, to the point where I don’t even mind sailing for 30 minutes or so straight while listening to the game music. I’ve even been known to run around and delay killing a boss just because I enjoy the music playing. Even people not liking Wind Waker or the Zelda series could find themselves downloading the OST to this game somewhere. Again, another perfect little mark as far as moosick is.

Gameplay is another somewhat important topic for this game, as the way it is set-up is both a good and bad thing. For the most (or all of) part, Wind Waker’s control scheme and gameplay are the same as Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask (as stated from before) Infact, playing the game pretty much feels JUST like playing the earlier two mentioned. For the 99% most part, every bit of playing the game is just as if you were playing Ocarina of Time, or Majora’s Mask. Which is the same for pretty much every other (one) Zelda game for consoles released so far. The main meat of the gameplay of fighting and puzzle solving, the Temples, aren’t exactly the best in this reviewer’s taste. Though they all make good use of new, and different items (as most temples do) they, at the same time, feel a little bit recycled in ideas and objectives. The bosses also left a lot to be desired. It felt like they could have been much more creative, even fighting them felt like I was fighting previous Zelda game bosses. I will admit, however, fighting Ganon while the room and world around you crumbles under water, gives a pretty kickass feeling. And on a good note for Gameplay, there are lots of little mini-game typed things that are just fun to play over and over.

Replay values are good, as well. Especially if you like fighting, giant, evil monsters as a kid in his pajamas. And if you’re anything like me, there will be lots of things left to collect that you didn’t bother to get the first time. Though, because doing a lot of those little extra things are, in truth, fairly God-damned boring (as most require mass sailing and looking around near-aimlessly through the sea) The replay value can be a worth much less to others who play the game because of this.

For what anything else about the game is worth, I myself love the graphics. Though many others have their certain protests, Link’s newly introduced used of facial features and eye movements were just great. His face when he’s about to be catapaulted off of a pirate ship, into an enemy-infested fortress with nothing but a barrel to shield him? Priceless. The way he’ll move his eyes to watch enemies and other things move? Fuck the haters.

All in all, it’s a great game. The best part being, it doesn’t focus overly on characters and plot (a good, and bad thing) so you can just focus on what’s really important: having fun. So if you have it, play it. If you’ve already beaten it, replay it. And if you don’t have it. Buy it.

The following is a quick review of three randomly-selected Poops.

Ooooh Youtube. What wonders and horrors you hold. Oh, hello there. Didn’t see you come in. My name’s Full Metal Kiwi, but you can call me Kiwi. Hm? What was I doing? Well, using Youtube’s “search” feature to find Youtube Poops, of course! Want to join me and my search bar on a delightful journey? Great! Let’s go!

The Juhoker Meets Claude Speed by DeeperCutt

Well this was the first search result for “Youtube Poop,” Deepercutt’s latest video. Yes yes, Deepercutt has too many subscribers, blah blah blah, go cry in a corner. In reality, this poop is very decent. In fact, more than decent. I think this may be his best one yet!
The sources used were the 90s Batman cartoon, a Bel-Air remix, a Rickroll, and various sounds and images. The main source was, of course, the Batman cartoon which seems to be a Christmas episode featuring The Joker singing and laughing all the WIIIIIIIIII.
Deepercutt seems to have put a lot of work into it, using mostly speed-ups, visual mirroring, reversing, and sentence mixing. A nice variety of techniques and effects sprinkle the entire poop and it’s quite enjoyable. The first time I saw this I burst into laughter whenever I heard that damn Joker going “WHEEEEEE!” There’s also a very impressive techno remix with The Joker, which was very entertaining. I like this poop, it mixes humor with raped effects to create an entertaining 4+ minute poop.

Rating: 4.5/5 (IT…………………….. HAS IT’S MOMENTS)
Very entertaining and a few humorous parts. The only thing that bugged me was that the video/audio sync for the techno song was out-of-sync and took away from the enjoyment a little. Otherwise, a worthy watch, even if you don’t fave it.

Be Careful When You Smoke Weed by MrRoboto113

Scrolling further down the search results, we see this poop by MrRoboto113. This poop was made, oh, almost a year ago. It clocks in at just under 2 minutes, but it feels longer than that.
The sources are Hotel Mario, the Mama Luigi episode, and a Family Guy clip. It basically uses sentence mixing and text. That’s it. There is a slightly amusing sentence-mix about instructions to find the instruction booklet, but the humor is lost due to the text that appears. There’s really not a lot to say about this. It doesn’t use many of the Hotel Mario clips and puts in an obvious Family Guy “Smoke” clip as well.

Rating: 1/5 (I need instructions on how to view this)
It may seem unfair and biased to bash this CD-i poop that’s over a year old, but too bad. I keep bad stuff on my account too, I think most of us do. This is just another example of the big influx of Poopers a year or so ago, all using Hotel Mario and Zelda stuff to fit in with everyone. A year ago, it may have been a bit humorous due to the “instruction” sequence, but it doesn’t hold up very well a year later. Don’t watch it, because you’ve seen all the jokes already.

Invader Zim Attacks Sonic by Supersonic45637

I skipped ahead and went to page 3 of the search results to see what I found. I noticed most of the results were WalrusGuy. Sure, it may have made sense to do a WalrusGuy poop, but I decided to choose something I haven’t seen before. And what luck, I found this gem by Supersonic45637 made back in January of this year.
Did I say gem? I meant “rock.” The first thing you’ll notice in this poop is the horrid sync. The sound/visual sync was so off, I thought it was on purpose because there’s sentence mixing in the beginning as well. And that’s really what this poop is, sentence mixing.
The sources used were the Sonic cartoon, Invader Zim, and a few other random things sprinkled in. The poop was a bit painful to watch. At least with Cd-i material, you know what to expect since you’ve heard “I hope she made dodongo spaghetti for dinner” a million times, but seeing a source that hasn’t been used before in the same manner is just painful. I don’t even know what the point of this poop was, since it follows the episode and dubs the Sonic cartoon with the Zim dialogue. It might as well be the actual episode, because at least Zim is funny. The sentence-mixing isn’t very creative and you can see the creator was just trying to fit in with other poopers (especially with the rampant “PINGAS” usage at the end for no reason).
There is one good part, however, where GIR is crying. The repetition for that scene is great but it’s over too quick and we are left with nothing else but bad sentence-mixing again.

Rating: 1.7/5 (Just watch Zim instead)
It may be worth watching it, but it’s really not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Can’t even cut butter. But to be fair, the creator was trying new material and even got the hang of repetition. Given some time, perhaps this person can incorporate more techniques and material.

CONCLUSION:

Well, I feel like a dick. A good Deepercutt poop and two horrid sentence-mixing poops. I mean, Deepercutt is in a whole different league when you compare them all. Oh well, I guess that’s how things go.
Safe to say, don’t use the Youtube search thingie to look for Poops. There are a few good gems sprinkled along the pages but they are few and far inbetween. Best way to find good poops is to find someone you like, look in their favorites, and subscribe to who they like. Easiest way to spread the joy.
I hope you all enjoyed yourselves, and I will see you in the Forums!

SonicNerd23 brings us another review of recent media.

Remember my Iron Man review? Remember when I said that a Hulk film had previously been made by gay cowboy director Ang Lee? Well, according to critical acclaim, the movie was a critical mess. The critics claimed that the Hulk in this film looked a lot like Shrek, even if the ILM crew worked on the special effects for practically a year.

And so, it was another 5 years until another Hulk film was made. This one was directed by Louis Leterrier, a rather new director. The film critics favored this one over the previous movie, and so did all of the other Hulk fans. Now why are people going crazy over this movie? Well, let’s find out, fellow poop community…

Plot (5/5): Bruce Banner, after being struck by gamma rays, is on the run from the government. He has taken shelter in Brazil, keeping his identity a secret. One day, he accidentally cuts himself in a soft drink factory, causing his blood to seep into a bottle. After an unfortunate old, American man (played by Stan Lee) drinks the bottle, the government tracks Bruce to Brazil and sends troops in after him, including Emil Blonsky, a special operations expert born in Russia and raised in England. After a chase and battle in the soft drink factory, which ends up with Banner turning into the Hulk and escaping. After the failed mission, Blonsky signs up as a test subject for a “super soldier” formula, created during World War II (a reference to Captain America). And so, he gets it injected into him. Meanwhile, Bruce escapes to Virginia where he meets up with his old friend, Elizabeth Ross (played by Liv Tyler). Little does he know, the military is aware of his location…

Sound (3/5): What dissapointed me was that there was no awesome rock music added into the movie unlike Iron Man, which had us listening to a decent score for most of the movie. However, the redeeming factor of this movie is the sound effects and voices of the Hulk and someone else. The voice of the Hulk was played by Lou Ferringo, from the original Hulk TV series. Nice touch right there.

Direction (5/5): There is some great acting in this movie, mainly from Edward Norton’s part. This is the first Edward Norton movie I’ve seen and he does a great job at making us believe that underneath his skin, there lies a monster. The CGI was also great. Even if the Hulk didn’t look realistic, who the heck cares? He’s the Hulk! You think a 9-ft tall man with muscles is easy to find (If there is any out there…)? While it may not have as much comedy as Iron Man does, it certaintly makes up for that in action scenes. Seriously, I think my jaw dropped at each action scene. And I’ve counted. There are 3 long action scenes total. They may be long, but for all the right reasons.

Overall: This has now become my third favorite film of 2008, other than Iron Man and Indy 4. If you’re a fan of the comics, go see it. If you’re not, see it any way. Why? Those action scenes are so damned great. I would not be surprised if this won at least one Oscar. If not, then a Saturn Award or a Golden Globe. Why? Well, go see this film! If you have kids (Which I doubt none of you do), take them along. Take along anyone you know. Just do it. The Incredible Hulk is one heck of a thrill ride from start to finish that I bet you will enjoy. Until next time, true believers!

Fun Fact: Like Iron Man, there is another cameo at the end, but, for those of you who don’t want to sit through the credits, fear not. It’s right before them.

Match: NS2 vs. MAZZ0Murder

Round 1 - NS2 - Revolver Ocelot Swims for His Life
NS2 started with a relatively simple poop using only Metal Gear Solid 2 as a source. It had a lot of stutter loops and catchphrases, and overall had very few effects. However, for a serve, which has to be edited, it was still a very well-done poop. Serves are tough to make, but NS2 did well, with a rather entertaining, if simple, poop.

Round 2 - MAZZ0Murder - Revolver Ocelot Can Swim But Fungus Drowned
And MAZZ0Murder hits the ball back hard. The second round is like the first, but a bit more extreme. He adds a clip from an anime, but doesn’t use it much- the main focus is remixing what’s already there. And Mazz does a great job remixing it, making the stutter loops faster and adding a lot of visual effects and what seems like some pitch change to spice it up. There are even what seem to be some short musical remixes in there as well. Overall, this is a great second round that still keeps the spirit of the original while taking it to the next level.

Round 3 - NS2 - Fungus Can’t Swim Like a Soul
And NS2 takes it even further. The stutter loops get even faster now and a lot of visual noise is added. NS2 added clips from Soul Calibur 2 and a brief clip from Haruhi Suzumiya, but again kept the focus on MGS2. There are more musical remixes and generally a lot more of what made Round 2 good. Overall, Round 3 was fast and rather awesome, and it’ll be rather hard to top.

Round 4 - MAZZ0Murder - Revolver Ocelot Finally Sinks and Trys to Become a Sniper
Round 4 is even faster, louder and awesomer. The stutter loops from the last round are speed up and even more loaded with effects, and the whole thing seems just one step away from seizure. Even the slow parts- specifically yet another musical remix- are still really entertaining and keep the pace going. This is a really great poop, and editing it will be a challenge.

Round 5 - NS2 - Sniper Sinks Ocelot’s Feelings
Round 5 has gone back into being 99% stutter loops like the first poop, but these loops are fast, loaded with effects, and generally seizure-inducing the whole way through. He adds some Captain Qwark, but it blends right in with the general madness. Round 5 seems like it set out to be the fastest poop in the game, and it definately succeeds. The lack of most poopisms except for stutter loops and, again, a brief musical remix may disorient some people, but I’m impressed with the poop exactly the way it is.

Round 6 - MAZZ0Murder - On Kaze’s Command Ocelot Sinks For Good
Round 6 is rather different from the rest of the rounds. It’s much shorter than the other ones- 48 seconds while the rest clock in at around a minute- and while there are some great stutter loops and effects and such in there, a lot of the poop is composed of slower clips from Final Fantasy Unlimited. It’s still extreme and fast, but it isn’t quite as good as the other rounds in my opinion. However, it still comes across as a great poop and a good end to the round.

Overall, NS2 vs. MAZZ0Murder was a great round. It started off slow, but that was only so every round afterwards could get faster and more extreme. The extreme use of stutter loops could turn some people off, but I enjoyed them all. The entire match was really great, and it ended up being one of the fastest and most extreme tennis matches I’ve seen.

Writer: Furnessly
Match: Ophios vs. rakninja

With the tennis cup having different and unique pairings, one of these most noticeable is Ophios, the moderator who is also an musician and rakninja being one of the oldest members as well as being a Staff member for the tennis section in the forum go head to head. So will it be Scratch or Megatron or both would get the title?

Round 1

The round starts off with arrows playing with some classical music which relaxes the viewer that suddenly some Thai cartoon goes around tilted and mirrored. The arrows continue getting wider and wider with a slowdown and colour changed footage with red eyes unexpected appeared out nowhere switching to the blue arrows which reveal to be four picture in picture swirls with a hint of tilt, then stuttering between some chickens which is trait of Ophios and a green bottle being vertically flipped also ending the music. As the blue PIP changes to green and moving, some character from Sweeney Todd is singing and reversing back and forth turning into more familiar poop territory which quick a layer of distorted footage by a swirl as the other events are continuing is quite a nice touch that moves to a mirrored singer and completely colour changed the footage. The layer is removed and so are the PIP effects, but shifting to reversing/repeating as a different distorted layer appears, this rapidly changes to tilted and inverted footage with muffled ear rape of the movie as the classical music retuns thus ending the video.

This seems more like a hypnotist video, however it is a very good round and shows originality something of a rarity. Also interestingly are the comments on the video arguing about the English langauage which is unfitting. I wonder what rak would do to poop this yet make it more pooper friendly?

Round 2

Starting off with a green screen effect and pitch altered (or possibly a different tune?) footage of the previous round, rak adds colour changed and repeated footage of Scratch on the plunger from the AoSTH intro which zooms out referring to both poop and indeed Ophios which makes the match from a hypnotist video to familiar grounds which I liked. The footage is rotated around which very rapidly using PIP and colour inversion of a man which a few seconds after changes by mirroring and using threshhold as well as lowering the pitch the colour changing Scratch returns moving left to right as that also including a quick picture too fast to see in general, however it is the singer from the previous round. Suddenly it refers back to the Thai cartoon from the previous round as a sped up Scratch as a layer is in the middle left. Very rapidly it goes from a jump of some footage in white, someone saying terrorism, Scratch sped up with a noise distortion effect, more from the last round, full screen sped up Scratch with the median effect in Vegas, ear raped white footage as the music slows down going back to the beginning rotating around which then fades out peacefully. To top this off, an unexpected picture zooming in with ear rape that actually gave a quick jump. Even though it was a good round and indeed beating Ophios’, however the problem so far is that many of the effects used so far for both are similar and feels like artwork not that it is a bad thing of course just not my cup of tea since I am no artist.

Round 3

Going back to the distorted footage of the previous round juxaposition between the blue bit and the green bit which changes to something that you see in a nightmare with mirrored footage with only a white line remaining with quick rotated layers of mirrored footage which changes to a stutter of the green footage and the man being white quickly changing to footage of the threshhold part and the sped up Scratch moving around between black flashes. Now getting more familar Ophios has G-Minored and inverted Souija Boy, a rest, a man shooting Elmo first unaltered, then stuttered and flipped ending the segment with a picture of Bush with a hint of ear rape. Moving on to red Chroma Key screen of Souija Boy with the Flange audio effect, a break, repeated but pitch altered scenes from the last rounds going on and off while having a transparenacy layer of red screen Souija Boy changing the match from artwork to more video editing aspect of poop but then Ophios’ originality kicks in. He alternates between flashes black, the arrows and the white footage ending with a reversed ear rape of the picture of the last round fading out the stormy music. So far this has been the best round in the match altering between artwork and video editing which the previous round only used very little of the latter. Also it has that nightmareish effect which would be a good idea if Ophios directed a geniune horror movie.

Round 4

rakninja has successfully emulated the video tape effect switching between the original source yet also including very brief moments of the previous rounds and Ren and Stimpy (names changed to protect the innocent) which was interesting that continued to the Ring part with a PIP of the last round. The Souija Boy footage was infra-red juxapositioning with the Ring tape which changed to repeating Ren chewing a lightbulb ending with a quick zoom, mirrored Souija Boy repeating slightly colour changed then zoomed in, moving to a scene of blood and finally a zoom of a chair. Going back to Ren and Stimpy staring as a still but started alongside a swirl in both directions with a zoom in with the Scotman’s butt, changing again with juxaposition between the ring footage and Ren and Smithy ending the segment. A quick break before the picture from the last two rounds looping twice before ending with some zoomed Ren and Stimpy. Fully enjoyed the round in this match so far as it references the nightmare part of the last round and during the round also uses the whaling sounds on the other footage which is a powerful touch as well as the footage used. Will Mr. Bird take down Megatron’s reign of terror?

Round 5

The beginning starts off with someone reading out a poem while the tape interference repeats and speeds up which moves to repeating infra-red Souija Boy as the poem continues, then a scene of blood is slowed down before moving back to SB and ending with a break. The chair from the last round is coloured changed to orange but apart from that it is unaltered switching to another break. Continuing the nightmare theme, Ophios added cracking of the audio poem as the interference returns briefly beforing going to repeated Ring footage which then returns to the chair now zooming in and out but changed to purple. Finally the audio poem finishes with no footage and at the last second, the ring appears. Ophios has indeed put the stops to rakninja’s last round however I still prefered rakninja’s round on the grounds of more bang for your buck even though Ophios does have a style and high amount of originality though.

Round 6

While the round starts off of sped up previous round footage with infrared SB and the interference, rakninja puts his favourite source (Transformers never the less) into very good use by putting a song as the truck (Optimus Prime?) starts normally which then stutters as using layers and PIP of the previous rounds moving across which then unsticks with a transparency layer of infrared SB. The stutters then alternate between two difference lots of TF footage with a transparency layer in between which was hard to make out. Some transformer then runs as it becomes threshholded and ear raped which then juxapositions between Optimus Prime and the ring footage from the last round, moving to Optimus and co while being lightly infra-red and continuing the segment with the interference with the song with a hint of scrolling TV interlacing effect in Vegas. The ring is then repeated and reversed very quickly as someone repeating saying Prime and speeding up, infra-red SB (a staple in the match) is repeated while being horizontally flipped ending with a pitch altered and ghosting effect as Optimus Prime says one of his catchphases… or is it? Na, mirrored Megatron ends the round and indeed the match which was icing on the cake.

While it did start off on a very shakey ground being more artwork which would appeal to only a few but it kicked off with the nightmare rounds and the last being a match worth mentioning. While it is hard to choose a favourite is due to different tastes while myself prefering rakninja due to him picking up the match and turned 90 degrees and then 180 degrees, artists would prefer ophios due to his uniqueness which unfortunately is not my cup of tea - not that Ophios is a bad pooper, on the contrairy he is very talented and did make a some good fads/poops in general but the problem is that he doesn’t realise that some stuff he likes is very niche especially in some areas (as pointed out by Vorhias in his music review). Still it was a match worth watching, just if you aren’t an artist skip the first two rounds okay?

Part two of two of the Indiana Jones review series. Our three reviewers sit down and have a discussion of the latest installment of the Indiana Jones series.

SN23: Welcome back, fellow poopers. As you remember, last time, Metal Kiwi and I did a review of the Lego Indiana Jones game. Now, for the last part of the Indy special, we will review the new Indy movie, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. But we won’t be doing it with just us. UncleChuckTH will also hop along for the ride. Now gentlemen, let’s talk movie.

FMK: I saw the movie opening night, the minute it came out. I was kinda excited, but there were MAJOR Indy fans there. Hardcore lovers.

SN23: I saw it opening day too, but after school. I had movie nachoes and peanut M&Ms, but I ate them all before the movie even began, lol…

FMK: What’s the deal with movie snacks costing so much? [/seinfeld]

SN23: Yeah… So when did you see this, UncleChuck?

UCTH: I also saw it at midnight, brought a ton of friends with me and sat through it. I actually saved my popcorn till the movie started though. =D

FMK: So what shall we discuss first, the plot? I’ll start:

The plot for Crystal Skull is about these Russian guys (insert commie references) looking for a crystal skull that is somewhere in Peru. Apparently, these skulls increase….. telepathic powers…? Then a kid called Mutt convinces Indy to help find his mom and encounters the kwazy Russians. That’s pretty nuch the gist of it.

SN23: Yeah, and there are major plot twists in the movie, which we won’t spoil for you. The opening scene is also pretty amazing. Harrison Ford really hasn’t changed much.

UCTH: The plot wasn’t deep, but neither are any of the Indy movies. It provided with us with some action sequences, a south-american encounter with some natives, ancient legends, a few sarcasm-filled discussions between the characters, and a search for the city of gold, which can’t help but remind me of National Treasure 2. Some of the characters were undeveloped, and the ending was ridiculously cheesy, so the plot isn’t the highlight. I don’t see it as needing to be the highlight in this type of movie however.

SN23: I would’ve liked to know more about Mac, seriously. Honestly, I enjoyed John Williams’s score. Of course, all of the Indy scores are great, in my opinion.

FMK: I don’t think you can really look at this movie for plot. It’s Indy! He goes in, kicks ass, finds treasure, and maybe someone dies a really cool death; and this movie had some pretty cool deaths.

SN23: Yeah, I mean who would have suspected “death by killer ants”? Well, it was obvious when they first appeared onscreen.

FMK: Speaking of killer ants, everything after that scene, for me, was a “What the hell?” moment. I don’t know if I enjoyed it, I don’t know if I hated it, but I was very damn confused for the rest of that movie. I won’t give anything away, but… I mean, we had Nazis melting in previous movies, and even THIS movie had me going “Are they really serious?”

SN23: The “3 times it drops” scene wasn’t really plausible, but it was a guilty pleasure for me, I’d say.

FMK: I guess it was a bit mind-boggling how the movie was classic-Indy the entire time, and then we get the last part of the film that becomes so ridiculous, for no reason. I really wished the movie just did something different with the finale… to change one scene is one thing, but this is the finale we’re talking about. It almost felt like I was ripped off. “Hey hey, here’s some amazing scenes, you like, you like? Sorry, now you get this ending.”

SN23: Personally, I found the ending to be cheesy, but I have a guilty pleasure for it. Sure, it may have been hokey, but it had it’s share of good scenes to me. And do I see a bit of the AVGN in your post?

FMK: Oh, that movie review for it? Yeah, I kinda feel the same, albeit some differences. I don’t know if I can really say this movie is a worthy sequel. Hell, Temple of Doom was in the series too, but I feel like that’s more of an Indy movie than this one.
Oh boy, people are gonna skin me for that one…

SN23: Yup, dude. Prepare to die at the hands of thousands of Indy fans. But yeah, I did agree with the Nerd on Hound Dog being head in the first minute of the film. We could’ve guessed it was the 50’s by:

A. The cars.

B. The clothing.

UCTH: The ending was cheesy, yeah, but it’s nothing we haven’t seen before. Raiders had an equally odd ending, corny, perhaps, disappointing, yes, but like I said, the plot isn’t much to speak of. It had to end somehow, and methinks Speilberg may have been feeling (SPOILERS) a bit nostalgic for Close Encounters, so that’s what we got. Odd, yeah. It could’ve been handled better, I mean, they could have at least made it look believable.

SN23: Well, at least you didn’t give the ending away completely by saying that nostalgia bit, but I did like how the artifact of the movie tied in with that.

UCTH: Honestly, I didn’t think the CGI of that scene were believable. But I’m treading on thin ice here, spoiler-wise.

FMK: I would’ve liked to see more special effects aside from CGI. Indy didn’t need it before, why now? Kinda why the new Star Wars movies blew (although I liked the third movie, but not for obvious reasons).

Safe to say, I think we can agree the movie is worth watching in theaters, just don’t expect too much?

SN23: I agree. If you’re going to enter the theater, enter hoping to see a fun film, because that’s what you’ll get. If you’re looking for an Oscar-worthy film, then go watch Iron Man, because, hey, this is the 4th in a series. What more do you want?

UCTH: One thing I do know about this movie is that all the sets were custom-built, so that part of it is very real indeed. Generally, I agree with what has been said here. Fun action flick that goes out to all ages, but it isn’t that deep in the end.

FMK: A solid 4/5 from me!

UCTH: Same.

SN23: I give it a 4.5/5. I kinda liked this movie compared to Temple of Doom, but Raiders and Crusade triumphs over this, obviously.

Well, poopers, That concludes our two part Indiana Jones review fest. I’ll see you again for my next movie review, and it might be epic, depending on what you like. Thank you for your time.

Game Week 2 has been well under way in the Tennis Cup for over a week now. Last round saw the elimination of half of the original 32 contestants, leaving the Sweet Sixteen to battle it out between eachother to move on to the Elite Eight in the following week. This article will give you the scoop on what happened in Game Week 1, as well as the events that led to Game Week 2. Following, YTP News was able to interview one of the contestants that moved on and another that was left behind. Be sure to watch this Game Week’s matches and to vote on them by using the YouTube Poop Forums to PM user “John Madden.”

Before moving on, an announcement: Gallers, founder, contestant, and host of the Tennis Cup, has decided to resign from his post as host of the Tennis Cup. He has offered the position to Christoph, contestant of the Tennis Cup and current writer of this article. Christoph gladly accepted so long as the people had no problem with this. “This will have no significant impact on the Tennis Cup,” said Christoph. Now back to coverage of the first gameweek.

The first gameweek of the Tennis Cup means elimination for half of the players. It is the single largest round of elimination in the tourney, and each of the players knew this entering the games. After the votes were tallied up, the result were delivered, but it was not a simple matter of sixteen of the players being outright eliminated. There were two matches tied for votes and three matches that were incomplete.

Uncle69er, Rakninja, and Gamebop were given free passes to the second bracket as a result of forfeited matches, as SeductiveBaz, Gallers, and Strong414bad withdrew. The incomplete match between MilkR0und and Intenseowl has yet to be settled.

Among the settled matches, several were tight matches. TheDarkRises vs. TheRoboticRobot was an extremely close match, with a large number of votes on either side, though in the end, TheRoboticRobot clinched victory. Other players who won tight victories were Christoph, NS2, and Ophios. In contrast, Crash2991 won a landslide victory over FourTwoNineStudios.

The two tied matches ended in victory for RabbitSnore and Ishkibibl, who played SonicNerd23 and Terrorist respectively. Terrorist and Ishkibibl’s match required three votes to settle it beyond the initial voting.

The first gameweek left the playing field of the Cup in interesting shape, paving the way for such pairings as Ophios vs. Rakninja, RabbitSnore vs. Nuthead, and Crash2991 vs. Uncle69er, to name a few. The results of the second gameweek will thin the flock by another eight players, as the Cup promises to continue to provide interesting matches.

One of the contestants that made it through to the second gameweek, NS2, was selected by random to do an interview with us. He gladly accepted.

YTP News: Hello, NS2. Thanks for taking some time to do this interview. What is something identifiable about you and your style in Tennis? Any notable sources you often use?

NS2: When I play tennis, it usually gives viewers a chance to see me exert a radically different style than my normal poops. Tennis is the only way I can truly rape clips, and I can create some very irresistible WMM stutters. If the opponent uses ear rape, I take that and use it in the next round to my advantage, and I have been able to convince viewers with some of my previous matches. Sources usually vary each match, but chances are I’ve already used it in a normal poop by the time I use it in tennis. For my rounds in the Tennis Cup, Metal Gear Solid games have been serving as the backbones of the videos.

YTP News: What has your experience in the Tennis Cup been like so far since you’ve survived one round and are now competing in the next?

NS2: So far, it has been an amazing experience competing in the Tennis Cup. I am very glad that I joined. I’ve had the chance so far to play two amazing poopers, GameCubeHero and MAZZ0Murder, both who I am a fan of, and both who succeeded to provide intense and challenging matches. It shocked me at first that I could defeat a veteran like GCH, as I never considered myself a convincing YTPer, but I realize the positive influence the community has had on me since I joined. I’ve learned to master the crafts of WMM, and I am proud of what I am creating, especially in these tennis matches.

YTP News: With only a total of 16 players remaining, there are a lot of strong competitors in the Tennis Cup. Who do you look forward to playing the most? Why?

NS2: Two of the contenders left in the cup, Crash2991 and Temeku, are worthy opponents I have previously played, and a rematch would always excite me. Since I played Temeku, both of us have strongly improved as YTP makers, and also in popularity. Both of us were unknowns at the time we played our mach, and now, with our new skills, the tension is higher and more people are there to provide support for a side. I also look forward to playing RabbitSnore, as he is an amazing pooper, and I’d like to put my skills up against his. I’d probably look forward to playing anyone left in the cup, as they are all amazing contenders.

YTP News: Thank you very much for your time, and good luck in the Tennis Cup.

While the path of those who are still in the Tennis Cup seems bright, the path of those who have lost is a different story. I was able to get fellow News writer and eliminated Tennis Cup contestant Sonicnerd23 for a brief interview aswell.

YTP News: Hello, sonicnerd23. Thanks for taking the time to do this interview.

sonicnerd23: Hey, hey, no prob.

YTP News: Before touching on other matters, let’s talk about the previous GameWeek. You lost to RabbitSnore in what was a very close match. What do you have to say about your match and your elimination?

sonicnerd23: It was a very epic match. Very epic indeed. I remember being a bit upset over losing, but then, I moved on. Y’know, you can’t hold onto the past forever. You just have to do your best next time something like this comes around.

YTP News: Moving on, what is something identifiable about you and your style in Tennis? Any notable sources you often use?

sonicnerd23: I often use sources that some poopers here might not even use, such as Godzilla movie trailers and Ratt’s Round and Round. I actually use a lot more real life clips than animation. *laughs* I try to add in as much ear rape as I can to the previous round if there isn’t a lot already.

YTP News: While you will likely have more matches of Tennis in the future, there are many great players in the Tennis Cup who could give you a great match. Of the remaining contestants, who would you want to play in the Tennis Cup had you not been eliminated?

Our second music review brings us back eight years, to something of a classic album.

Hey guys, I am ThyToonyman, most of you won’t know me because I’m not able to make Youtube Poops due to a number of unfortunate events. I am your new Music Review dude and will review a number of albums, song and/or artists to recommend them to the people out there. To start I will review an album that contains a song that’s very important for me:

Brave New World by Iron Maiden (2000)

This album is a turning point in the history of Iron Maiden. After the 80s Iron Maiden’s music started to decline and the fans started to turn away form the band. When lead singer Bruce Dickinson left the band in the early 90s, Blaze Bayley was chosen as his replacement (more on him in a later review). This new singer wasn’t really well received by the fans due to his different voice range, which led to even more fans turning away. But many of them rejoiced and returned when the band announced that Bruce Dickinson would return in the late 90s. This album is the first of the new albums with Bruce Dickinson as singer and 3 guitarists in the band. While it revived some elements of the band’s 80s music, it also used much fresh matter. Let’s review the album song by song:

1. The Wicker Man (4:35)
This song set the tradition of following Maiden albums that the first song is a shorter, more mainstream oriented piece with an upbeat nature and a pretty complicated message. It has great instrumentalisation and a memorable sing along chorus. The solos in the middle are nice, but there are better. Overall a nice song.
8/10

2. Ghost of the Navigator (6:50)Iron Maiden has always been a band that used elements of Progressive music in their song. This song is a great example. It has shifting time signature and melodies, like in the chorus or the solo section. This song is a hidden gem, not many people know it, yet it has great melodies and the solo section is lovely. A very nice song, although it may need some time to sink in.
8/10

3. Brave New World (6:18)
This is the song that I mentioned before as being very important for me, as it led me away form mainstream techno music and introduced me to Heavy Metal and Rock music.
The song starts soft, grows powerful and heavy and climaxes into a genius solo section only to return to the softness from the beginning. It’s just incredibly powerful and full of energy and manages to put the meaning of the song (I hope you know the book by A. Huxley) into perfect music. This song ranks among the best not only from the album but also Maiden’s whole career.
10/10

4. Blood Brothers (7:14)
A wonderful and emotional ballad, although not as greasy as some other metal ballads. Wonderful melody and great solos, this song shows the softer side of Iron Maiden’s music.
Beautiful piece.
9/10

5. The Mercenary (4:42)
A shorter, simpler song, compared to the long songs that precede it. It’s something you’d call a “rocker”, it’s short and the melody quickly jumps into your brain. It’s a nice song with once again great soloing, but it’s a bit dull compared to others. It’s good nonetheless.
6/10

6. Dream of Mirrors (9:21)
This one’s for the Progfags among us. It’s a great epic with changing melodies, time signatures and an occult theme in the lyrics. The song gradually builds up until it climaxes in a faster rendition of the chorus and then slows down to reprise the beginning. As usual the solos rock and the drums are amazing. Wonderful epic, although it might be hard to digest for some people who dislike complicated or long songs.
9/10

7. The Fallen Angel (4:00)
Another more simple “rocker” typed song. If you like shorter ones more then you’ll probably like this one too, but it’s a bit generic for my taste. But the musical work is still good.
5/10

8. The Nomad (9:06)
This song lives from its atmosphere and musical work. The lyrics are pretty dull when compared to the others and the song is dragging in some places, but the atmosphere the music summons is amazing. It really puts your thoughts into the desert and makes you imagine nomads and the stuff. If you like atmospherical songs then you will love this one, otherwise you should skip it after a try.
9/10

9. Out Of The Silent Planet (6:25)
This song is great. It’s simpler than most of the longer ones, yet it features the same level of musical genius, especially the faster parts sound lovely. There isn’t much to say about this one, just try it and make your opinion.
8/10

10. The Thin Line Between Love And Hate (8:26)
The last song on this album is yet another powerful ballad, although it’s even more powerful than Blood Brothers. Wonderful and emotional, if you love ballad-like songs then you will like this one too.
9/10

Overall Score: 9/10

A wonderful Iron Maiden album. As with most Iron Maiden albums, the musicians do a great job. The guitar solos are very fitting and great and the rhythm section (bass and drums) does a great work aswell. I’d like to point out the greatness of the drumlins in the songs. Nicko Mc Brain is regarded as one of the best Metal drummers for a reason, he can play perfect double bass beats with only one foot, a thing that not many drummers can do. If you are a drum person, pay special attention to them, you’ll grow fond of them.

Our news staff brings us a review of the latest Indiana Jones media.

SN: Hello, fellow poopers! This is SonicNerd23 and Full Metal Kiwi here to bring you part 1 of a 2-part Indiana Jones review extravaganza. This week, we’ll be reviewing Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures.

FMK: This game has been released on 360, PS3, Wii, PS2, and the DS. They’re pretty much all the same. I got the 360 version. I recommend this one most, due in part that all 50 achievements are quotes from the movies. Nice touch!

SN: Eh. Well, personally, I find the Wii version to be cool. With just a flick of the Wiimote, you can fire guns, crack whips, and swing swords. Of course, there is the alternate option of pressing B to attack… Oh, and the Wii version requires the Nunchuck to play. Y’know, to move the character and all.

FMK: Makes sense. They’re the same price, too, so that’s good for whatever system you own.
Well, I’ve played Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga, so I was used to this type of game. I noticed this game has a HEAVY emphasis on puzzles, though, as opposed to Star Wars’ emphasis on combat.

SN: Oh, YES. Well, you figure that if it’s an Indiana Jones game, it’s heavy on puzzles because everything about Indiana Jones is avoiding complex traps to get to the treasure. But still, it’s rediculous. I swear it took me at least 5 to 10 minutes to solve a puzzle in the Well of Souls level.

FMK: I found the puzzles to be a mixed bag, myself. Playing through the game normally is fun, but when you’re looking for the Parcel, mailbox, and the 10 artifacts in every stage for Free Play… There’s been times where I didn’t know what to do! I didn’t encounter too many puzzles I couldn’t figure out on my own, though. But the ones I didn’t, were VERY frustrating indeed.

SN: And another problem with this game. It sometimes throws in bosses that weren’t even in the movies, ala the Nazi Lobot-like guy or the giant Nazi tank itself. I mean, do you remember the scene in Raiders where Indy fights a giant Snake before exiting the Well of Souls? I think he’d soil himself if he ever did.

FMK: Well, the entire game itself is filled with more combat. I think the game would be too easy or boring if it didn’t have added enemy encounters. At the same time, some enemies are just annoying. Any enemy that has guns or bazookas will probably kill you if there’s enough of them. I’ve lost MUCH money thanks to those bazooka guys…

SN: I know. Seriously, in the Motorcycle Escape level in Crusade, the end area is just a pain in the neck to get through with an almost-filled True Adventurer bar. I had to go back to that level in Free Play to get it. WITH A x2 STUD CHEAT ACTIVATED.

FMK: Ugh, did not enjoy that level… Now, I’ve played this game with a second player, and let me tell you, it’s very enjoyable. It’s the kind of game where you can annoy the hell out of eachother and laugh. You gotta hand it to a game that can make “friendly fire” hilarious.

SN: I’ve never had a 2nd player, but I would like to, from past experiences with the Lego Star Wars games. I also like the customize your own character this time around. I made Irina Spalko from Crystal Skull and Scarface. You even have the option to test out the custom character so you can see how he/she works.

FMK: I haven’t used the custom character option too much, but I think the variety is a lot better than Star Wars, and it’s much easier to choose new costume parts.
I think the length of the game is agreeable, as well. Not as many chapters as Star Wars, but the levels are a VERY good length, as opposed to some Star Wars levels being just a boss encounter.

SN: True that. The cutscenes also follow the story closely, hence their length. But I found something funny. When you’re fighting that muscular Nazi in the airplane area of the 5th level of Raiders, that Nazi is the closest thing to God (no offense to those of you that are highly religious). He can survive punches, bullet shots, heck, even missles from the freakin’ AIRPLANE! Yet he only gets damaged from punching the anvils. HOW THE HECK IS THAT PLAUSIBLE?!

FMK: I find it humorous that guns and punches do the same amount of damage in this game, and you even take the same amount of damage from a spider as a gun. Speaking of, I like the “phobias” in this game. Some characters are afraid of certain things and freeze up, forcing you to use another character. I also like how no character is really useless (like in Star Wars) since anybody can pick up weapons or punch. I remember being miffed with Star Wars that some characters had useless attacks, or couldn’t attack at all.

SN: You have a valid point. But really, I thought it was Henry Jones Sr. that had a fear of rats, not Elsa. Some things I like are how the story ties in to the levels. I thought the dart shooting scene from Raiders and the Iehova jumping part from Crusade were both cool.

FMK: Really, it brings the movies to life pretty well. I think anyone could understand the story if you had forgotten a movie before. Kinda another reason why I like the achievements, though, is because the Lego people don’t talk and you miss out on great lines. Since every achievement is a line from the movie, you get the memorable parts as well. But I digress.
How did you feel about the cheats this time around? I like the concept of finding the parcel, and then having to deliver it. Gives more meat to Free Play, rather than just repeating a level all over again.

SN: Yeah. It’s a lot more creative than, say, just finding the special red brick of a level. It’s like you have to find that red brick, find the mail box, and then drop it in. It certainly adds more of a challenge. Although it is farfetched that a mailman would go out to the desert to get a package.

FMK: I think they countered the length of Star Wars with the amount of content they could fit in one level. I like that. Makes the game worthy on its own. And it’s a game anyone can enjoy, really.

SN: Even if people didn’t see the movies, it would still be enjoyable for them. I also love the feature to pick up weapons. That way, you can have Short Round hold a bazooka.

FMK: Very enjoyable, indeed. And with the amount of extras in the game, even completists can enjoy it! A game for casuals and hardcore alike. So, how would you rate this game?

SN: 5/5 definitely. It takes everything Legos Star Wars 1, 2, and Complete Saga gave to us and increased it tenfold.

FMK: I agree! A solid 5/5 out of me as well. Equal parts thinking and difficult with fun and unlockables!

SN: I garuntee that whoever plays it will love it, and if they don’t, well, that’s they’re opinion, but I think that this game is awesome.

FMK: As a closing comment, it was really my fiancée who is the major Indy fan, but even for me, this game was GREAT fun. The only people who don’t like this game are people who hate fun.

SN: Agree’d, and one more thing from me. There are certain bonus levels and a few bonus characters you can unlock in the game that are pretty sweet. Thanks for reading this review, YouChew community. Join us next time for a review of the new Indiana Jones movie, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

The following is an in-depth look at two of the matches in the first gameweek of the Tennis Cup. Due to time constraints and these being the first two matches done, they were the only ones analyzed by writer Furnessly. In the future we hope to cover more (if not all) of the matches. With that said please enjoy the lengthy and informative analysis of Christoph vs theHappyFungus and MAZZ0Murder vs Fiddlesticks411.

Unlike many of the forum members, I had low expectations of the tennis cup and was uninterested with the line up unlike the Poop League which the opposite was true but I was pleasily surprised with the outcomes.

Mazza vs. Fiddlesticks

First things first, this is one of the first complete matches in the cup next with forum regular MAZZ0Murder and Scottish newcomer to the forums Fiddlesticks so this is case of semi-experience poopers which is the first time I experienced them in action. Mazz serves with a very small screen due to an accident exporting, never the less starts with ear rape changing to a repetitive stutter. A quick juxaposition of someone playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl, altering between this and Final Fantasy XII ending the segment with a stutter of the menu. Changing to anime now, Mazz uses inversion with a hint of reverse and repeat switching to a pattern between a man and woman topping off with a swirl. The ending was anticlimatic with a repeat of ear rape of the fight but with a different scene and a repeat/stutter of SSBB. So far things don’t look interesting and had a pattern which unfortunately was stale and a little bit boring, just hope Fiddlesticks can improve it but it is acceptable for a first round.

Interesting that Fiddlesticks swapped W and F in the title however the beginning was the fight repeated and sped up rather like the early days of poop then giving it a repeat and a flip, again like the early days of poop. Then comes the wait and stutter technique which then speeds up which ends with a catchphase line which is strangely fitted with this match so far. It then changed to a combination of slowdowns and speed ups of the SSBB menu and the fight with a rotation/flip effect which then ends with a sped up version of the catchphase. Taking the anime scene from Mazz, she inverted and flip one of the repeats and kept the man/woman shift scene mostly unaltered with an exception of ear rape in one case. Next came a voice replacement scene with the fight and the King from the Cd-i Zelda games ending with the menu of SSBB unaltered. Quite disappointing really with the ending as it looked like it was heavily rushed with one the touchy sources being used however it isn’t too bad for a newbie into the poop world and the beginning reminded me of one of early poops which can be a good thing.

Mazz returns with the picture getting even smaller which gives unintented humour with Zelda but this time from Twilight Princess unaltered and a rotation effect of a black man. Going back to the Final Fantasy fight which so far is the most used source in the entire match, it starts sped up but with a surprise sentence mixing to form the word cock unless it is an audio source and a repeat of a mirrored and tilted to point of almost nothing left of the picture which is fascinating. The inversion anime girl is still there but very quick as it moves to a pesudo picture-in-picture effect which is actually one but moved from one place to another and back very quick, ending with more inversion and going back to the menu but reversed. Changing to a new source using mirror and picture-in-picture but real this time with a hint of swirl, then came the anime girl having a colour change. The CD-i King however is remixed with darker contrast and a seizure which repeats later in the round but without the blur, then came a music segment with no picture ending with Ganondorf and more Twilight Princess with the voice over from the SSBB video. An improvement to the previous rounds but still not appitising yet.

Being the video longer in length plus Fiddlesticks rushing which she admitted, she continues with what appears to be a remix of the last round with many parts unaltered such as the beginning but then surprising with a rotation of the bl
