Tennis Cup Coverage: Game Week 2

June 24, 2008 By: Christoph Category: Poop Tennis, Site News 1 Comment →

Game Week 2 has been well under way in the Tennis Cup for over a week now. Last round saw the elimination of half of the original 32 contestants, leaving the Sweet Sixteen to battle it out between eachother to move on to the Elite Eight in the following week. This article will give you the scoop on what happened in Game Week 1, as well as the events that led to Game Week 2. Following, YTP News was able to interview one of the contestants that moved on and another that was left behind. Be sure to watch this Game Week’s matches and to vote on them by using the YouTube Poop Forums to PM user “John Madden.”

Before moving on, an announcement: Gallers, founder, contestant, and host of the Tennis Cup, has decided to resign from his post as host of the Tennis Cup. He has offered the position to Christoph, contestant of the Tennis Cup and current writer of this article. Christoph gladly accepted so long as the people had no problem with this. “This will have no significant impact on the Tennis Cup,” said Christoph. Now back to coverage of the first gameweek.

The first gameweek of the Tennis Cup means elimination for half of the players. It is the single largest round of elimination in the tourney, and each of the players knew this entering the games. After the votes were tallied up, the result were delivered, but it was not a simple matter of sixteen of the players being outright eliminated. There were two matches tied for votes and three matches that were incomplete.

Uncle69er, Rakninja, and Gamebop were given free passes to the second bracket as a result of forfeited matches, as SeductiveBaz, Gallers, and Strong414bad withdrew. The incomplete match between MilkR0und and Intenseowl has yet to be settled.

Among the settled matches, several were tight matches. TheDarkRises vs. TheRoboticRobot was an extremely close match, with a large number of votes on either side, though in the end, TheRoboticRobot clinched victory. Other players who won tight victories were Christoph, NS2, and Ophios. In contrast, Crash2991 won a landslide victory over FourTwoNineStudios.

The two tied matches ended in victory for RabbitSnore and Ishkibibl, who played SonicNerd23 and Terrorist respectively. Terrorist and Ishkibibl’s match required three votes to settle it beyond the initial voting.

The first gameweek left the playing field of the Cup in interesting shape, paving the way for such pairings as Ophios vs. Rakninja, RabbitSnore vs. Nuthead, and Crash2991 vs. Uncle69er, to name a few. The results of the second gameweek will thin the flock by another eight players, as the Cup promises to continue to provide interesting matches.

One of the contestants that made it through to the second gameweek, NS2, was selected by random to do an interview with us. He gladly accepted.

YTP News: Hello, NS2. Thanks for taking some time to do this interview. What is something identifiable about you and your style in Tennis? Any notable sources you often use?

NS2: When I play tennis, it usually gives viewers a chance to see me exert a radically different style than my normal poops. Tennis is the only way I can truly rape clips, and I can create some very irresistible WMM stutters. If the opponent uses ear rape, I take that and use it in the next round to my advantage, and I have been able to convince viewers with some of my previous matches. Sources usually vary each match, but chances are I’ve already used it in a normal poop by the time I use it in tennis. For my rounds in the Tennis Cup, Metal Gear Solid games have been serving as the backbones of the videos.

YTP News: What has your experience in the Tennis Cup been like so far since you’ve survived one round and are now competing in the next?

NS2: So far, it has been an amazing experience competing in the Tennis Cup. I am very glad that I joined. I’ve had the chance so far to play two amazing poopers, GameCubeHero and MAZZ0Murder, both who I am a fan of, and both who succeeded to provide intense and challenging matches. It shocked me at first that I could defeat a veteran like GCH, as I never considered myself a convincing YTPer, but I realize the positive influence the community has had on me since I joined. I’ve learned to master the crafts of WMM, and I am proud of what I am creating, especially in these tennis matches.

YTP News: With only a total of 16 players remaining, there are a lot of strong competitors in the Tennis Cup. Who do you look forward to playing the most? Why?

NS2: Two of the contenders left in the cup, Crash2991 and Temeku, are worthy opponents I have previously played, and a rematch would always excite me. Since I played Temeku, both of us have strongly improved as YTP makers, and also in popularity. Both of us were unknowns at the time we played our mach, and now, with our new skills, the tension is higher and more people are there to provide support for a side. I also look forward to playing RabbitSnore, as he is an amazing pooper, and I’d like to put my skills up against his. I’d probably look forward to playing anyone left in the cup, as they are all amazing contenders.

YTP News: Thank you very much for your time, and good luck in the Tennis Cup.

While the path of those who are still in the Tennis Cup seems bright, the path of those who have lost is a different story. I was able to get fellow News writer and eliminated Tennis Cup contestant Sonicnerd23 for a brief interview aswell.

YTP News: Hello, sonicnerd23. Thanks for taking the time to do this interview.

sonicnerd23: Hey, hey, no prob.

YTP News: Before touching on other matters, let’s talk about the previous GameWeek. You lost to RabbitSnore in what was a very close match. What do you have to say about your match and your elimination?

sonicnerd23: It was a very epic match. Very epic indeed. I remember being a bit upset over losing, but then, I moved on. Y’know, you can’t hold onto the past forever. You just have to do your best next time something like this comes around.

YTP News: Moving on, what is something identifiable about you and your style in Tennis? Any notable sources you often use?

sonicnerd23: I often use sources that some poopers here might not even use, such as Godzilla movie trailers and Ratt’s Round and Round. I actually use a lot more real life clips than animation. *laughs* I try to add in as much ear rape as I can to the previous round if there isn’t a lot already.

YTP News: While you will likely have more matches of Tennis in the future, there are many great players in the Tennis Cup who could give you a great match. Of the remaining contestants, who would you want to play in the Tennis Cup had you not been eliminated?

sonicnerd23: I would have liked to clash blades with GameCubeHero. After watching some of his poops, he seems like a very interesting pooper that I would like to test my skills against.

YTP News: Since you’re no longer in the Tennis Cup, who are you rooting for? Who do you think will win it all?

sonicnerd23: I’m rooting for NS2, not because he’s a mod, but because he’s a WMM god. It’s hard to say because several of the poopers here have great potential, but I think [the winner] will be GameCubeHero.

YTP News: Thank you very much for your time. Best of wishes to you and your future endeavors.

sonicnerd23: Thanks. I hope the same.

This gameweek will definitely test the Sweet Sixteen of the Tennis Cup, but it is up to you, the audience, to decide their fate. Like the previous gameweek, voting is done on the YouTube Poop forum. Simply create a PM addressed to user “John Madden,” and include your votes for all the matches you’re looking to vote on. You may on every match only once per gameweek. Thank you for participating.

YTP News will continue to cover the Tennis Cup each gameweek. If you would like to volunteer (reviewers needed especially), please contact Christoph on the YouTube Poop forums via the PM system. Have a good day.

Tennis Cup: Gameweek 1 Matches

June 11, 2008 By: Christoph Category: Poop Tennis, Site News 1 Comment →

The following is an in-depth look at two of the matches in the first gameweek of the Tennis Cup. Due to time constraints and these being the first two matches done, they were the only ones analyzed by writer Furnessly. In the future we hope to cover more (if not all) of the matches. With that said please enjoy the lengthy and informative analysis of Christoph vs theHappyFungus and MAZZ0Murder vs Fiddlesticks411.

Unlike many of the forum members, I had low expectations of the tennis cup and was uninterested with the line up unlike the Poop League which the opposite was true but I was pleasily surprised with the outcomes.

Mazza vs. Fiddlesticks

First things first, this is one of the first complete matches in the cup next with forum regular MAZZ0Murder and Scottish newcomer to the forums Fiddlesticks so this is case of semi-experience poopers which is the first time I experienced them in action. Mazz serves with a very small screen due to an accident exporting, never the less starts with ear rape changing to a repetitive stutter. A quick juxaposition of someone playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl, altering between this and Final Fantasy XII ending the segment with a stutter of the menu. Changing to anime now, Mazz uses inversion with a hint of reverse and repeat switching to a pattern between a man and woman topping off with a swirl. The ending was anticlimatic with a repeat of ear rape of the fight but with a different scene and a repeat/stutter of SSBB. So far things don’t look interesting and had a pattern which unfortunately was stale and a little bit boring, just hope Fiddlesticks can improve it but it is acceptable for a first round.

Interesting that Fiddlesticks swapped W and F in the title however the beginning was the fight repeated and sped up rather like the early days of poop then giving it a repeat and a flip, again like the early days of poop. Then comes the wait and stutter technique which then speeds up which ends with a catchphase line which is strangely fitted with this match so far. It then changed to a combination of slowdowns and speed ups of the SSBB menu and the fight with a rotation/flip effect which then ends with a sped up version of the catchphase. Taking the anime scene from Mazz, she inverted and flip one of the repeats and kept the man/woman shift scene mostly unaltered with an exception of ear rape in one case. Next came a voice replacement scene with the fight and the King from the Cd-i Zelda games ending with the menu of SSBB unaltered. Quite disappointing really with the ending as it looked like it was heavily rushed with one the touchy sources being used however it isn’t too bad for a newbie into the poop world and the beginning reminded me of one of early poops which can be a good thing.

Mazz returns with the picture getting even smaller which gives unintented humour with Zelda but this time from Twilight Princess unaltered and a rotation effect of a black man. Going back to the Final Fantasy fight which so far is the most used source in the entire match, it starts sped up but with a surprise sentence mixing to form the word cock unless it is an audio source and a repeat of a mirrored and tilted to point of almost nothing left of the picture which is fascinating. The inversion anime girl is still there but very quick as it moves to a pesudo picture-in-picture effect which is actually one but moved from one place to another and back very quick, ending with more inversion and going back to the menu but reversed. Changing to a new source using mirror and picture-in-picture but real this time with a hint of swirl, then came the anime girl having a colour change. The CD-i King however is remixed with darker contrast and a seizure which repeats later in the round but without the blur, then came a music segment with no picture ending with Ganondorf and more Twilight Princess with the voice over from the SSBB video. An improvement to the previous rounds but still not appitising yet.

Being the video longer in length plus Fiddlesticks rushing which she admitted, she continues with what appears to be a remix of the last round with many parts unaltered such as the beginning but then surprising with a rotation of the black man playing some sort of Spinning song that I forgot the name to. The sped up battle returns again which is getting very predictable with an even smaller screen and unaltered, the anime girl pesudo PIP was sped up, the PIP black man was the same and so was the King segment but the colour changing anime girl having the audio distorted rather like a Sinclair Spectrum loading up funny and flashing shows that even newbies have tricks on their sleeve. Some fresh air now with a Sonic Sez segment from Sonic Breakout with a repeat of Tails shaking the cans and continuing the segment unaltered which then the song from the last round kicks in and the Ganon part was slightly sped up. Then it repeats from the Sonic Sez to Ganon screaming pretty much exactly without the sped up part. If Fiddlesticks had more time then this might be a good round but with most of round being exactly the same as Mazz’s, it shows no evolution and getting towards of repeating the new parts of the round, the only good parts of this round were Tails and the remixed PIP moment. Pretty much hopeless is this match.

Only Mazz can make this better and it shows promise with Metroid Prime and fixed the shrinking picture problem that plagued the previous rounds moving towards the King repeating the Final Fantasy line with a blue seizure. Back to Samus, it showed a quick picture of the Sonic Sez segment which then goes to an unaltered part with a tasty ear raped mirrored screaming Ganon for a bit of surprise. Using the PIP effect, he managed to alternate between the anime girl, the Sonic Sez segment of Sonic rushing to Tails and the painting, the black man mirrored and the Spinning song referencing Fiddlesticks’ previous round which is also referring to his past round with a colour altered Tails zooming closer which is quite original considering the entire match so far. An ending with the super slow and zoomed Tails and a quick glimpse of the mirrored battle which so far as been the best round in the match but can Fiddlesticks manage to make it better?

An improvement to her last round starting with a slowed Metroid Prime scene with quickly changes to a fast horizontal flipping scene but going back to her previous work keeps Mazz’s last round unaltered at least until the LawforKids forum meme comes up trying to imtate Mazz’s work but not exactly got the timing right. It soon returns to the flipping scene early of the poop and the screaming Ganon. Fiddlesticks then sped up Mazz’s PIP scene with some music which according to the description come from SkyDigital but must be old since I haven’t heard of it for a while thinking that it will keep the same feeling but there is some luck with the Haruhi footage which is sped up, filled with Ganon’s scream, rotated and inverted but the end was the same as Mazz’s, however this was also her best round. Even though these two have a lot to learn and the match was pretty boring at the beginning, they have a lot of potiental with Mazz being more experienced and Fiddle getting better by the end even though she should remix the rounds a little bit more. The only problem was many of the rounds were the same and even used the same footage.

Happy vs. Christoph

Likewise the match between theHappyFungus and Christoph (known as CrazyCouchChristoph on Youtube) has been interesting to say the least considering that I only looked at a few of their poops before. Happy serves using a sprial pattern, one of her favourite sources Norm Augustinus and Margeret (the Moxie) which uses stutters, many layering techniques, rotation when she used the Moxie and text at the end which gives it a disturbed but pleasent to the pooper feeling despite her original thoughts. Christoph returned by the repetition of the spiral pattern, a pitched and inverted Moxie rotation and including what appears to be The Good, the Bad and the Ugly and a clip of the Michael Bay Transformers film using Chorma key effects, a scratched like distortion and repetition in the end which would give Happy something to work with.

On the next round, Happy starts with a spiral and inversion of Christoph’s western footage which then changes to a parallel layer movement and eventually a quick but powerful distortion using colour changing waves and a low volume ear rape. Moving to Battletoads which was uploaded by Nuthead, another pooper in the Tennis cup starts with reversing, stuttering and juxapositioning of Good, the Bad and the Ugly as well as ear rape, screen flipping of Clint Eastwood and a voice tune of one of the cowboys which is sort of like a YTPMV but without the background music quickly moving to distortion and ear rape, stutters and a sped up finish of Christoph’s last round. Will he outsmart her or will it end up in the trash?

Christoph luckily can outsmart her, by starting with a remixed of the previous round with green vision, robotic voice replacement of Optimus Prime, a remix of Happy’s cowboy tune with a quick die from Optimus shifting towards his newly included but mastered before Guitar Hero which could be considered an in joke. Quickly came a jitter from the Moxie, zooming and direction shift on Happy’s Battletoad footage with a slowdown of the mask, a surprising move is some sentence mixing which was not used in the match which so far using effects than anything and fitting footage of the man getting shot. The stutters came back with some Sonic Heroes footage, some text with a message and a response with the Transformers footage, an amuzing thrush from Shadow and return of the slowdown but with Clint Eastwood this time with a snowflake. Repeating the stutters, a horizontal flip and the juxapostion between Sonic and Prime starts to worry about the staleness but luckily some distorted Guitar Hero footage and a sped up of Happy’s first round stopping the potiental backfire which also gives a pattern of the match so far.

Despite the lack of ideas to the point of recycling and butchered a famous poop name by Stegblob, Happy gives this round a different feel by distorting the heck out of Christoph’s footage. Starting with a quick flip of Shadow and a fade out of the re-remixed cowboy tune ending that segment with a spiral, audio distortion and warping colours. It switches to distorted GH footage with a cartoon (Looney Tunes?) as a picture-in-picture layer moving from one side of the screen to the other and rotation as a bonus. Now this next part is very hard to describe to put in brief, Happy uses many many effects from Vegas such as punch, night vision and wave with a quick jump of Clint Eastwood completely destroying Christoph’s footage to the point of being unrecognisable with a quick Transformers stutter in between even though Youtube glitched the ending. Will Christoph be able to take this piece of art and remaster it being that it is a challenge to poop the next round?

Final round, final service and a meta reference at the beginning using Desperate Housewives and Omega from Sonic Heroes but with the robotic voice replacement as last seen in Round 4.

Then all the previous rounds were sped up and put in layers just in case people didn’t want the entire match which would have come in handy. Moving to some American drama which uses the word “Whore” with sentence mixing, juxapositioning with Sonic Heroes, stuttering, mirroring of Optimus Prime, nightvision and slowdown of the same footage ending the tail off with all three sources that Christoph used in this round so far with Die. Using the unrecognisable part of Happy’s last round, he managed to move, twist and turn the almost impossible to poop part into something useable as well as repeating and slowdown of the other distorted footage. Quickly came a repeat of Clint shooting the gun, a scene using a blue screen, the return of the “Why” remixed cowboy tune but not using the previous rounds as reference which is interesting to say the least. Suddenly a quick flip of Guitar Hero, a nonsense sentence moving with some woman and changing back to GH but distorted. The ending is however very different to the rounds, instead of brain rape, repetition or sped up of previous rounds, Christoph put some unaltered footage of The Good, the Bad and the Ugly with a surprising conclusion and the return of the amuzing Shadow thrush puts an fitting and receiving end to a mouth watering and indeed unexpected match.

There was also a match between TheDarkRises and the newcomer but has potiental The Robotic Robot however due to problems in this moment in time, the review could not be delivered.

Additional notes.
With Youtube being very glitchy with many poopers not able to upload their poops and with no progress between the amazing British match between Bournemouth based Uncle69er and the incredible Baz from Scotland, this tennis cup is not exactly going to plan however these problems might clear up later in the series.

Tennis Cup Introduction

June 10, 2008 By: Christoph Category: Poop Tennis, Site News 7 Comments →

Tennis is a word that any normal person would associate with the real life sport involving balls, rackets, a court, and two women named Williams. In our community, it is slightly different. YTP Tennis is when one person makes a video, sends it to the other person so they can make a new video with the original video, and this bounces back and forth until the game is complete. Sometimes the community holds tournament-styled events for YTP Tennis, such as the Tennis League 2 that was held back in Fall 2007 / Winter 2008. If you are up-to-date with the community’s tennis then you may know that as of now, the Tennis Cup is being held. What is the Tennis Cup, exactly? Well this article is here to discuss it.

The Tennis Cup, hosted by Gallers & “John Madden” (RabbitSnore), is an elimination style tournament of thirty-two players. The players of the Tennis Cup are: AbsoluteBillion, Captpan6, Crash2991, Christoph (myself), Domorato, Fiddlesticks411, FourTwoNineStudios, Gallers, GameBop, GameCubeHero, GreatBritishTurd, Intenseowl, Ishkibibl, Luioigi, Markie, MAZZ0Murder, MilkR0und, NS2, NutheadElMajestico, Ophios, RabbitSnore, Rakninja, SeductiveBaz, Sonicnerd23, Strong414bad, Temeku, Terrorist, TheDarkRises, TheHappyFungus, The Robotic Robot, Trogdor7190, and Uncle69er (Please note that these were the original players of the Tennis Cup and by the time of this article’s publishing, it may be incorrect). Quite a line-up of players ranging from well known members to talented newcomers makes for one of the best YTP Tennis events yet.

Every two weeks, a new round of the Tennis Cup begins where players (after being randomly paired against eachother) will have six rounds (three videos made by each player) to battle it out. Each round be longer than 30 seconds, but shorter than 3 minutes, and the maxium amount of sources that can be added during each round is 3. Once the match is complete, players, viewers, and anyone else on the forums can vote for who should win the match (details on voting at the bottom). Whoever gets more votes is the winner and go on to the next round of the Tennis Cup. With 32 players, each week the number of players is sliced in half, going 32, 16, 8, 4, and then the final two. Below is the official matches set-up for the first round of the tournament.

YTP News plans on bringing bi-weekly news on the Tennis Cup to you, but since sixteen matches were held last week, not many of them finished and there were too many to cover them properly. An in-depth look at two matches that were done early will be posted later this week. Another thing that will be done for the Tennis Cup is brief interviews with randomly selected players that are currently playing still. This time, our player is Nuthead.

YTP News: Hello, NutheadElMajestico. Thank you for taking time to do this brief interview.

NutheadElMajestico: It’s no problem, thanks for the interview

YTP News: What is something identifiable about you and your style in Tennis?

NutheadElMajestico: My style, well… There’s not really a permanent pattern to it I guess you could say. To be more accurate it’s more like a style that inhabits bits from other styles and combines them together. That, and experimenting around, seeing what does what to such and such clip. If I like it, it stays. If I don’t, well… Let’s just say it gets a little nasty.

YTP News: What has your experience in the Tennis Cup been like so far?

NutheadElMajestico: Pretty good. Currently waiting on Round 3, but Markie looks to be a challenging opponent. Plus with all this graduation ceremony and traditions this week, it’s been difficult to meet the time requirements, making it a bit more challenging. But a good challenge is never bad. Unless, you know, you’re one of those people who use game genies.

YTP News: Who do you look forward to playing the most? Why?

NutheadElMajestico: That is a tie between both Ishkibibl and Terrorist. Their styles are very unique, and it would be a pleasure to play against either one (Or in Terrorist’s case, a game that extends beyond 2 rounds). I’d just love to see what kind of rape they could do to my video. Terrorist has a slower kind of style that works really well, while Ishkibibl has stutters and layers down to the dime.

YTP News: Thank you very much for your time, and good luck in the Tennis Cup.

NutheadElMajestico: Thanks, and good luck to everyone else. So far everyone’s doing a spectacular job, so keep up the good work.

Look forward to seeing more overviews of the Tennis Cup’s action for that bi-week, player interviews, and other Tennis Cup related news each bi-week.

To vote in the Tennis Cup look in the Poop Tennis forum section for a subsection titled Tennis: Tournaments. Then search for topis with a tag in the title of the match that reads COMPLETE - VOTE NOW, or something to that effect. After viewing the match, go to your PM system and fill out a PM to be sent to the username John Madden. Subject titles can simply be titled “Vote” to make it clear that you are voting. In your message, state the matches you are voting on and for whom you are voting. You may vote only once for each match currently going on. At the end of the gameweek (two weeks), all the votes will be tallied up and the winners go onto the next round of the Tennis Cup.

For questions about the Tennis Cup, please contact RabbitSnore or Gallers. Good luck participants, and happy voting to all.
