YouChewPoop has been existence for almost a year, but it has never seen drama as intense as it had only a few days ago. It might be said that all the drama and division in the community built up to recent events, in which a discussion thread about raiding a site was closed, which led to a plethora of complaints against the administration.
With drama and hate on the sharp rise and HTML posting disabled on the forum, meaning that no pictures could be posted, several members of the forum decided to take action and open a new forum to temporarily escape from YouChewPoop and its hardships. The new forum, Planet Freedom, opened soon afterwards and over the course of a week, became the temporary home of over one hundred users – over 20% of YouChew’s userbase, a testament to the discontentment of the members.

With Planet Freedom open and running well, the administrators of the new forum were branded as “blackmailers” on YouChewPoop, and Thereisnospork303, a long respected member of the forum, was banned for starting the site. Misselaineous10, a longtime moderator of the site, lost her position as moderator for supporting Planet Freedom. RabbitSnore, the relatively new editor of the news page, lost his job as well. These bannings, losses of position, and labeling as blackmailers led to heightened drama and discontentment. In time, the name “blackmailer” changed to the even more potent “iconoclast.”

After several discussions with the staff of Planet Freedom, Thereisnospork (TINS) decided it was time to contact Conrad Slater, site curator of YouChew, and try to end the conflict, which the staff of Planet Freedom unanimously felt should not have been a conflict to begin with. Soon after, TINS received a reply saying that his options were either to continue to run Planet Freedom as YouChewPoop shut down or to shut down Planet Freedom and assume control of YouChewPoop. After discussing the matter with Misselaineous10, RabbitSnore, UncleChuckTH, Terrorist, MrDrunkenFox, and Dopply, TINS replied to Mr. Slater, choosing the latter option.
It was not long then until Planet Freedom was closed and the administration of YouChewPoop changed dramatically, with TINS at the head of a new staff. Moderators SeductiveBaz, Neilwb23, and TangerineImpz remained on the staff. MrDrunkenFox and Misselaineous10 were restored to their status as moderators. Terrorist, proving himself as part of the Planet Freedom staff, was also promoted to moderator. RabbitSnore was restored to his position as news editor, with the addition of some moderation powers on the forum.
TINS, at the head of a freshened staff, has promised open communication, a relatively democratic system in which the moderators confer and make decisions together, and perhaps most importantly, efforts to decrease the harsh levels of hate and division in the community. The new staff is in control of the forum, the Chewiki, and the news page. The directory remains in the capable hands of Conrad Slater.
It remains to be seen what kind of changes the new team will effect, but the change seems welcome, and speaking now as part of the new staff, I can promise you only our best.
